At MIT interviews are a very important part of your application. Many ppl got in because they were able to convince their interviewer; many got rejected because they weren’t.

now thats cool!

The interview thing works a bit different for India , I know applicants who have been admitted into HYP and MIT without giving interviews. If you have an interview its definitely a good idea to leverage it to your advantage.

I don’t know about any of you guys , but all my/friends interviewers from our own High School , dont really know if that was a coincidence or not.

welcome to TiT pinku2002

Almost no activity on TiT today. sigh

Maybe 'twas because Shri and I weren’t online today (And why you ask? (or don’t ask, but I’ll assume you did)); well a combination of studying for the boards a bit; and a computer succumbing to voltage fluctuations and dust accumulation lead to much cleaning of its innards (you’ll be surprised at what lurks in there (no wait, I’m talking to future CS majors, so you wouldn’t be :D). I’ll stop blathering now.

Just to confirm: MIT doesn’t needs Mid year report, does it?

I don’t know. You could check it on their website. I’ve started stating the obvious, I know.

Can someone tell me the difference between EA and ED? I actually had no idea that even existed until I started seeing threads that said “what are my chances? applying to ______ ED”

Board exam fever has gripped the TiTans…

No midyear report for MIT.

naidu90 – ED is binding (if you get in ED, you are committed to attend the ED school). EA is not.

And I have a Board exam tomorrow, why am I here?

which student will join something ED then? <- why is that even there, does that application cost less (just a surmise)

VIT VIT VIT!!! VIT rocks!

naidu90 a student who i really good would try applyin for ED at competitive colleges.

300th Post
I LOVE CC

Your chances to get in go up of you Early somewhere. It’s because colleges don’t have to worry about acceptance rates and all that. Colleges such as Princeton choose half of their class through ED[P’ton wouldn’t be offering ED from this year, although]

Well the Logic for the ED is simple that if you show considerable interest in a school and you know for sure its your top choice , it kinda makes it clear to the University and bumps your chances for acceptance , since you can only apply to 1 school as ED and it is binding.

EA is a better version of ED where you apply early but you can apply EA to as many colleges as you want and the decision is not binding. So for junkies who reallllly cant wait EA is the way to , its just that you gotta prepare your apps in advance.

Good luck to everyone giving the Boards!! Have Fun !

oh okay, I guess that makes sense. thanks a lot

Fun? Boards? Please tell me you’re joking. :/

(Yes, I’m stressed and online in order to drown my sorrows by watching video clips on the BBC’s website. So sue me.)

ha that’s why I come to this website every 15 minutes, so I don’t fall asleep while doing my homework!

You guys are taking your boards bit too seriously!! Its not hard , just annoying to have a month of exams !!

Frankly I dint do anything for my boards simply cuz I had a couple of important acceptances way before boards started !
