The Indian Thread (TiT) # 15

naidu: I agree with you.

Can anyone tell me how much does SAT cost?(in india)

^^
$80, plus 9.50 for each additional score report.

Use your CB account to get the actual cost and then get a dollar draft from some bank (in case u dont want to use credit cards online)

I “ballsed” my Princeton interview as well. It was 12 minutes long. She just kept firing questions at me (well, she was pretty friendly, but she still kept firing questions at me.) and she said “I really wanted to get this interview before the deadline” (and yes, she rescheduled it to March 1 again) and I don’t think she really cared about the interview.

Blah. First the physics exam and now the interview. btw, Lakshya, I said I was hoping to get a 90, I probably won’t. Most probably.

I hate life. Not really, I realise I’m rambling on here, I need my blog back, but if I open Xanga, my mom goes ballistic >.< (“YOU HAVE BOARD EXAMS GOING ON!”)

end of post.

ITS OFFICIAL I AM A DOPE!!!

gosh! too much of researching is hurting my brain now!

just help me out here for the last time…

I want to do aerospace engg. I just cant find a good list of colleges that can provide me aid! What I have on my list that provide aid are:

wpi

RIT

University of arizona
4.Iowa state

forgot…

ah guys just tell me people…help me add to that list

i will clearly explain my situation here. My dad is an officer in the army. My family just cant afford paying around $30000 on avg every year (not even if we sell off everythin! )

and are there any external sources of funding? yeah i know loans anything except that?

HELP ME HELP ME!!!
Yeah Yeah I have got time, no need to go haywire…still…

If you want to do aerospace engineering, you might want to consider Embry-riddle. I know it has a strong Aerospace program but do not know anything about the financial aid situation.

One of my friends applied to Florida Inst. of Technology, which is also kinda good for aerospace engineering, and is close to Kennedy Space Centre! He got a $15000 merit scholarship with a mediocre SAT score. He will only have to pay about $6000 now.

About the external sources of funding- you must be able to find a job once you get to your university. Colleges pay as much as $10/hour for starters and as you work you can earn as much as $30-50/hour. Whats more- if you are interning in any reputed company or with Professors, it will help you for grad school admission as well.

FIT is very generous in giving merit aid.

Hi!..
For any SAT related information u can always log on to
www.collegeboard.com
For SAT preparation consult The Blue Book, Barron, Princeton Review, Kaplan…
As for the Aerospace Engineering, U can always consult US News as it also ranks unis for individual courses/majors…

P.S.-You dont hav to worry much about ‘‘Which field to major’’ as fas as u go to a top college…U will hav 1-2 complete yrs to choose ur major…

I hav heard of FIT, and IMO, it ranks in the middle area…

Neways, howz all ur exams going ery1??..

Best Wishes for the Boards!!!..
CHEERS

I got an email from Embry Riddle a few weeks back… but there’s not that much aid available… definitely not a full ride…

And as for American Idol thing, who really cares whether that Indian is gonna become the Idol or not…Come-on its BOARDS time!!..and MIT’s Decisions will out within 20 Days!..(OK…OK…OK…I sounds a it ■■■■■■ here…but its a FACT!)…

rem this stuff?

Paula: You’ve got nice handwriting…
Randy: You couldn’t even cross 220 in SAT… blah…blah…blah

Less than twenty days, actually. Cripes, I’m nervous. And would very much like to be the first girl from my school to make it to MIT, but that’s castle-in-air, rather.

thanks for help but, i got this day before yesterday

Ajay:

Thank you for your interest in our University. Unfortunately Flroida Tech offers limited shcolarships and financial assistance. On average, we can only provide

***!!! why wont the whole text show up!!! i just pasted the damn mail and it wont show!

second part:

one -fourth of the total funding necessary for your education. I suggest you investigate further for a university that can offer full funding to international students with financial need.

as of now that only college i am really interested to go is WPI!

the American Idol thing that I started was because I was surprised that an Indian even got in - I have no idea what the judges think of him except the fact that he sang weakly the last week and didn’t get voted out (I don’t even know how he sounds)

@isaacnewton: I am a junior and I live in NY, I doubt I will have to worry about the boards or getting into MIT (right now anyways)

howdy naidu?

hi (10 char)

Whats with the question mark, are you unsure as to whether you want to say hi or not? :)

ajayc- FIT is different from FloridaTech

Oo spacepirate gimme the link
