The Indian Thread (TiT) # 15

all the best!!! Well my finance thing has been solved to some extent. been talking to UGs at VT. they say they take loans for 2-3 semesters then interships!! :D

Ajayc: Well, dont consider it as a discouragement…but it seems that u wanna go to US at ‘‘any cost’’…Abhi is right n his point’s relevancy can only b realized when u hav ‘‘experience’’…
After top 15 colleges in US, there is no point in paying for them…India is not a bad option after all…I can giv u examples of my bros…they just did their engineering from ‘‘local’’ colleges n now they r in HP n Infosys…
Believe me, earlier I thought that India stands no-where near US…but I realized that the US colleges r not worth paying a penny after top 15…n Indian colleges r quite good and should not b ignored at any cost…

ajayc: You want to do Aerospace Engineering, right? Then you don’t need to worry about getting into ‘one of the top 15’ colleges. You can easily get into Purdue. As far as I remember it is ranked 4th. If you get an SAT score of >1400(M+V) you will get merit aid as well.

If you think you will be able to manage 4 years in Purdue - repaying the loans will not be a problem. You will need to work extremely hard though. Purdue is known for accepting just about anybody but then they are also known to ‘filter out’ a lot of those people later on.

thats what I am saying I want to pursue ‘aerospace’!!! And in a way yes I want to go to US in any way possible. I am going by Aerospace rankings not the general ones. I am trying to find ways to fund my education. I can easily get admission to ERAU, but still I am looking at other options. I am talking to current students who are on loans about how are they managing it and how will they repay it.

A guy in VT, in his sophomore year, is being offered jobs by 5 companies!!! And he got an internship after 2nd sem worth $4500per month.

I dont want to go US looking for money…Its just that I love their practical approach. As it is the ‘Top 15’ they all dont provide aerospace just 1-2. As it is I cant pay my way through getting in the ‘2’ is HELL competitive.

100 in Math! :D:D:D:D:D (or at least a .9999… probability of a 100 in math. :)

Good one Shrivats…(u will surely get 100…)…

much the same for me :)

is BU seriously going to be need-blind towards Intls from this year?

It won’t be need-blind but it would be providing need based awards to int’l from next year.

hey guys one of the projects I have started http://evolution-gaming.clans.net your feedback is appreciated!

Do you mind criticism?

Anyway, I will critque it tomorrow. I have a Chem Board Exam to study for. First look says there is a lot to improve upon.

small text and stuff? I just made that in 1 hr so yeah criticism would do :D

and that mechanical thing is coming in front of texT!

Woooh! I have a 100 in Math, History, English, Design and Drawing (needed to graduate), and French! But then I have an 87 in Physics; I think I can very accurately say that I am very bad at Physics :o

congratulations naidu! I am good in physics but my teacher just wont give me marks! :D

NO matter how hard I study for Physics, I always make stupid mistakes :(

aww man…chemistry tomorrow :(

It’s not that bad really. Well it is, but I just like to dream sometimes. :D

I’m actually don’t mind chem, it’s just the prospect of getting a weird question that shouldn’t be there that I’m afraid of…

@CBSE folks: How was chem?
