The Indian Thread (TiT) # 15

So we have a poet here? Which side of the post-modernist divide do you fall in? (Noldo and I have already divided ourselves on that :))

Hehe…I was thinkin exactly that Shri…

just keep urselves away from Hypertension guys/gals…

I hate that tiny voice! Hate it.

I think we’re way, way beyond hypertension here…

Coronary Thrombosis seems more likely. :)

Yet another victim, and enemy of that tiny voice here. :)

(We’re talking about nothing again, aren’t we, this thread really should be renamed.)

You have a published poet here :D. Well, published in newspapers and magazines.

What is the post-modernist divide?

I write poetry that’s kinda narrative, with an aabb rhyme scheme. I could PM some of them to you.

I m in stand with u lakshya…I HATE it!!!..

@Shrivats: I had to google that. :p

But yeah, it’s right on the money. About an hour ago, my door bell rang - I felt my heart do a double flip. Seriously.

Ah it’s nothing. (I hate post-modern poetry, Noldo likes it, and so on…)

(Not that I really know that much about post-modern poetry, but, well, I know it when I see it. :))

My brain is going to blow up. Now.

Published? Wow, Kriti. I’ve won stuff with mine, but never worked up the courage to try and get it somewhere other than my hard drive and/or competition sheets.

Oh, poor non-bio student, exposed to a cruel, cruel world without the security of knowing the function of Psophocarpus tetraglonolobus. How do you live?

Shrivats – hate modernism all you want, but you can’t deny the absolute greatness of [Burnt Norton](http://www.tristan.icom43.net/quartets/norton.html). And here’s another one – [Leda, After the Swan](Leda, After the Swan by Carl Phillips - Poems | Academy of American Poets) wot’s also great, so there. :p

I manage just fine.

Nice job kriti. *impressed. My writing’s been restricted to Young Times, a local rag/magazine, and the Frank Anthony All-India Essay Competition. (Which is this terrible thing where they make you write paeans to “The Future of Education” and “The 21st Century Woman”) :)

Though I dislike poetry of any form. I kind of like ‘The Four Quartets’. What category does that put me in?

The category of ‘really cool people’, Lakshya. The Four Quartets are wonderful things, most definitely.

I’ll grant you Burnt Norton Noldo, (resolves not to generalize), but I’ve always hated poems that require voluminous footnotes. Kind of destroys the purpose, but that’s just my view…

Can I join that category, can I, can I?
:):D

<—

I like the sound of that. :D

I hav been just watching ‘‘5 points which can sav India from Bangladesh’’ on Zee News…I acnt quite believe myself that I hav been watchin that…
