I’ll be up!
(Though it’s only until about 1:30 in my time. :))

I got accepted to Kenyon
but I am still waiting for all the other decisions. How about you?

I am starting to dislike the number 29.

I’ll be up as well. It’s not like I’ve got anything better to do. Sleep is so over-rated. ;)

@lakshya - if you dont mind me asking, what descision are you waiting for?

I don’t even know when my decisions are coming out…
And I’ve only heard from 2 out of the 12 I applied to…

@dda:

Caltech
CMU
Duke
Princeton
Stanford
Yale
Harvard
Penn
JHU
Cornell
Northwestern

In no particular order. Just accept me, somebody. :p

You’ve applied nearly everywhere I have Lakshya!

Remove Caltech, add Rice, add Berkeley, and you have my list. :)

@ aritct: There’s a very useful thread in College Admissions that would tell you when you’d get your decisions.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=306319

yeah I saw that thread, but none of the colleges I applied to are on that list because all of them say “Decisions out by early April”…
like Hamilton, apparently they mail out on April 26th, but since i’m int’l its going to take some time to reach my house…

only Grinnell’s decision is confirmed…April 1st…online…

Bio… do Gulf students have a different Board schedule?

@Shrivats: Yeah.
We have 9 colleges in common. It’s going to be a fun night, this 29th.

@Pulchritude6: I don’t think so. At least us CBSE’ers have the same schedule.

No we’ve got the same schedule. I’m in ICSE/ISC. Hence the Bio.

Wow, how do you people manage to write so much!

There seem to be some overachievers on this forum. Congrats to the MIT admittees, I haven’t even bothered to check my status…

You live in India/UAE? I live in India and am taking Boards right now.

If you’ve been going through the archives of The Indian thread, well, good luck to you! (15th incarnation here :))

How do we post so much?

Well we’re a bunch of college obsessed 12 graders who have very little to do at the moment (besides study for the boards that is :)) and who are very erudite and loquacious all. (And moderately arrogant as well. :D)

What do we post about?

Latin
More Latin :)![]()
Nothing (very frequently)
colleges (Just a little)
General whining. (a tittle) :D

Oh and yes, I live in Dubai, as do Kaushik (k_twin, my twin :)) and Lakshya.

Welcome to TiT!

Lol… well I wished my school in Delhi had marked us better in 12th and 11th internals… they seemed to care only about Boards and Delhi University admissions… didn’t make an 80 in anything except English in the internals… and now Board marks hardly count…

I know that feeling. Our school decides to set immensely difficult papers for the Pre-Boards and to top that, they don’t even grade the papers properly. Supposedly, that prepares us for the Boards. :D

Nothing much you can do, but do your best.

Well our exams were about the same. The only difference is for us, though the class average remains about 60 ish, we’ve got about 5 people who score in the high 90s. (That’s despite rampant grade deflation. :D)

Of course the upside is that we’ve got about 10 people in class who’re going to score above 95% in the Boards. (with a few aiming for about 98-99% :D)

In my class, only one student got some 90s… and I felt it was due to her superior reputation because I don’t feel her papers were that great either… teachers in my school don’t care enough to mark you according to your paper’s worth… and besides because of the huge crunch (thousands of people applying for limited seats), some teachers drove us crazy with stress and pressure, tearing apart everything we did. The highest in Phy, for example was 83 in the internals… I don’t think he really cared about helping out US-bound students… I managed only about 75… nearly half our class failed who got 80s in the Boards… Boards seem a cakewalk now…
