I’m still coming to terms with 2 out of 2 Ivies I applied rejecting me :)

bas, you’re not the only one. And I didn’t even apply to Harvard – I applied to Cornell, which has a reputation for being less selective (though their Engineering’s pretty competitive, yes). Ergo, I have more angst than you do, SO THERE. :p

I heard Cornell wrote to some people that ‘they had a guaranteed transfer option’. What does that mean?

By the way, I got 5 rejections yesterday. Ha!

@Noldo… But we have the greatest reason to celebrate… we got our first choices … yippie … :D

I’ll get rejected by my first choice today. :(

@Lakshya - Stanford huh ? Same here man…

Which stream all o u ppl opted 4 ?

CS. (10 char)

If you mean college major, akhaitan, I’ve applied to Computer Science everywhere, but will probably switch to Physics. (Actually, it’s a good thing I didn’t get into Cornell Engineering. Transferring between colleges ----> Still More Bureaucracy, not fun at all.)

Lakshya – chin up, dude, you got into some rather good places. Stanford’s not out of reach. (And Cornell’s guaranteed transfer is only for certain colleges, I believe; not Engineering or CAS.)

bas – true, that. :D

yah noldo i mean college major onli…

How hard is transfer ? I mean ppl come up n tell yah dat work hard ull get a trnsfer 2 places like stnford nd all…but seriously…wnt it b tuffer dan gettin admitted as a freshman in d 1st place !

Congrats Kriti! I had the first in a long series of college discussions today, net result being I’m

'course it is an enviableish situation to be in :p

I’ll probably decide once packets start coming in :)

Akhaitan, you might want to check on International transfers as compared to normal transfers. Many colleges don’t allow for internationals to transfer or don’t offer aid to international transfers, so you might want to check that avenue carefully.

Cool…tx !

Lets see…Stanford still remaining…otherwise going 2 CMU

@akhaitan: If it’s of any help, that’s what I’d do, provided I get CMU. ;)

@k_twin: Have you found out how much scholarship UCB’s giving you? Nobody I know got it, so it must be good, I think.

Cool man…am pretty happy i got into CMU-Scs tho…cuz all da major colls seem to be simply throwin my app out of d window !

can I expect a miracle to happen and Stanford accepts me? Duh!

I’m better off preparing for the JEE than spending the night waiting for Stanford.

I’m calling tonight to find out. If they meet need then it’s :D

I don’t even know if I’m staying up for Stanford. What time is coming up? (I might just set an alarm for it) Pretty certain of a rejection there really. :)

Seriously though, I’ve no idea where I’m going to college.

Fun.

If you’re going to Berkeley, I have a friend that I can introduce you to :)

I GOT INTO UC IRVINE AS WELL (It was my sort-of-safety)

I still CANNOT believe I got into UCLA. Woohoo.

Good luck with deciding. I’m accepted to 4 / 8. Well, I’m accepted four, rejected four, waiting on four. Symmetry!

I’m not staying up for Stanford (3 PM Pacific, Shrivats). I’m waiting for the post on that, definitely.

And I know where I’m going, mostly because I love Caltech, and partly because I don’t really have a choice. Of course, it makes things peaceful.

& congratulations, Kriti, even if it was your safety. Any clue where you’re going?

Me, I’m accepted to 1, rejected by 4, waiting on 1. Palindromic! :p

Poor, poor stanford applicants.

ajayc: No party now, because all my friends are giving various entrance exams…only one guy got into NUJS and has nothing better to do now!
once my friends are free i promise i will personally set city centre on fire

and by the way the harvard acceptance e-mail is weird. It’s titled: Your Application to Harvard College or something like that.
Man it looks like a rejection letter if you read the title!

2 am here then… :)

Don’t think I’ll stay up. I’ll set an alarm or something. :D
