The Indian Thread (TiT) # 15

:D I see I’m dealing with a moderate fan here. :)

Reminds me of that brilliant movie. (Emperor’s Club).

Private School in Britain in the 60’s. Teacher with absolutely ‘plum’ accent demands names of the first 4 rulers of the Ancient Greeks…

Protagonists’ deadpan answer: Paul, John, George and Ringo. :D

I like the argument taemi and I are having on Facebook, we’re arguing on Harvard vs. Oberlin.

Of course, Oberlin > all.

Shrivats – Heh. (Well, I would’ve suggested the members of Monty Python, but there are too many of them. And two 'Terry’s, which could potentially be very confusing.)

Kriti – Harvard vs. Oberlin? They’re very different places, aren’t they? Bit silly to compare. ;)

Too early Tetris, way too early…

(Well, not way too early, but definitely too early)…

Do your SATs, start early on those (Oct - Dec: 11th Grade)

Just try to be active in things other than the exams, and don’t spend much time on CC till next year. :D

@Noldo: Stephen Fry will always be the best ever Brit Comedian for me! (Closely followed by Laurie. :))

@Noldo and Kriti: Well, well, Caltech and UCLA really aren’t bad places are they? Sorry, sarcasm is my folly. But hey, this is ENCOURAGING!!!

For the record, I’m slogging away at civics while in front of my PC at the moment. Does any kind soul know anything about State Legislatures?

Oooh, all about them. (I used to be this civics freak back in 10th, studied from 4 different books for the boards and all. :D)

@Shrivats: I play national-level tennis tournaments (although my rank really isn’t country-best) and am into MUNs for the record

Whoa seriously? Could you help me out a liiiiiitle bit?

Great, then don’t bother too much about College admissions right now, do well in the boards, but remember, regardless of what people may say, your 11th Grade is the most important year of your life! :)

Right. 11th. And 12th. Got it.

Stephen Fry is awesome. As is Hugh Laurie, really (and by extension, A Bit of Fry and Laurie is way too awesome. :D).

tetrisfan – not half bad. And I don’t know anything about civics – loathed the blasted subject, and pretty much bombed my Social Studies Boards anyway (78. Don’t mock my lack of intelligence, please.).

Well nothing much to know really, the texts are more than enough for 10th grade civics. Just, I don’t know, read the textbook. Internet information is only for when you want to intimidate the examiner. (Always a great thing to do. :))

I went on a Whose Line spree a few days back. (Tries to control a grin :D)

Brilliant, brilliant improv. Josie whoever! Brilliant.

"And now Josie, tell us about washing machines in…

Swiss Yodelling. :D"

Alright then I really must get down to some civics if I plan to reach my goals. But Shrivats, I’ll pop in and out of this thread every once in a while (but will focus on exams, yeah).

Thanks for the help/advice everyone!

No problem, tetris, whenever you want. (We’ll be on this board till the end of time, or so it seems. :D)

Ah, Brit-TV-wise I’ve re-fixated on Doctor Who, because it’s just re-started in the UK (and the new episode was totally fantastic, so I’m all excited for the next couple of months).

Anyway, early morning TiT fix received, I’m off! :D

fuzzy- pm me your number so we can talk sometime :)

even though we’re from the same school, we’ve hardly said a hi to each other till today :D

Hi!..

So, IIT is on 8th…whoz worrying?..

not me.
