wait a minute nomad. what’s the problem being a vegetarian?

lol I am sure there is vegetarian food available at MIT.
You might feel JEE is tougher but having gone through the entire college applications thing, I feel otherwise.

no there is no problem but frm wat i’ve heard there is a dearth of quality vegetarian food in usa, either its too expensive or its salads and bread and butter, ok i am talking not from my own experience but a few of my frnds who travelled to america told me many a times they had to make do with salads and half a litre of coke daily

nomad, u r ill informed. u get a variety of veg stuff all over. no problem.

that was just one example, and i am not going to give up mit on such petty food and drink issues i might as well eat non veg food, but there are several other issues

ya i am surely ill informed cause i dont really have any source of reliable info here as i’m away from home at a coaching institute for jee.

nomad, please lie down on the couch, let ur mind wander and tell us about ur issues.

and thats why i’m here, to get some info, clear my misconceptions etc etc

blurt it out yaar.

don’t tell me that u have a punjabi boy problem. ok?

oops, i did it again! sorry.

ya i know my mind is full of contrasting ideas and this slow gprs connection is causing severe communication gaps, i’m posting before you and my posts are coming after your posts its frustrating

Its 1:30 AM here. I got to go. I was just joking. Please feel free to PM me if you have questions/concerns. I will try to help you as best as I can.

what does “punjabi boy problem” mean ?

Nomad- Gee, sorry.

aniruddh its alrite buddy no issues

@tippu well the other issue concerns my parents they are not happy with the fact that i’m thinking of applying to us college for undergraduation. they say do undergraduation here as it is better then go to usa for graduate school. On what grounds are they saying even i dont know fully, they vaguely hinted at something saying i’m too young, the reason which they told me i didnt find really convincing.

Another ■■■■■^^ leu-something.
Hey, welcome.
I wanna go to MIT.
I wanna go to Hawaii.
I wanna visit area 51.

@ nomad-my parents will support either, though my relatives and frnds and all other ppl I meet tend to believe the same thing. T may be a little diff out there , but if u can survive in India , u can survive anywhere I believe.
I talked to a few ppl , weighed my options , and got a lot of varied opinions- the best one being- if only I did my ug frm a us univ too.
Some say it is a money draining machine, others , who are or hav been there say u can always get brlliNt intrrnships as an ug too, which help a lot. Ofcourse if u get into MIT u get aid. But spose u don’t then I’d say u still go to a decent us college rathre than iit. It ain’t tough to get into iit but it is fricking tough to get a decent, good rank. Much tougher than getting into MIT. Alotugh they can’t be compared coz u need to work on stuff other than academics for MIT(which can be fun) while for iit u just have to slog ur ass out.
I don’t know what point I made^^ but now I make one-go to the USA

Better still, follow esconie- she is air 18 and going to MIT.

ya i think on the same lines as you ans i want to go to mit because they offer great research opportunities also the other reasons you mentioned. My mother is supportive and says i should atleast try dad says you will not get scholarship and cost of living is high uncle who has been there says culture is not good someone else says it will hinder my jee performance frnds try to demoralize showing me the stats like only 3% ppl get in etc but my resolve is firm i’m gng to give sat in october or nov and toefl in dec after going home and i think i have a chance of getting selected
And as for the air 18 girl the year before ****ikant air 1 in jee went to mit
