<p>I know a LOT of people (in real life) who were denied their visa the first time they applied, and got it after reapplying.</p>
<p>Anyway, harvard: call them anyway. Ask them when your I20 was sent, because it takes about 3 weeks for the interview + another week to get your passport. If you feel it won’t arrive in time for you to arrange your interview, ask for your SEVIS code. That way you can still book an appointment.</p>
<p>EDIT: Its actually about 20 days, but take it as 30 to be on the safe side.</p>

<p>hey harvey boy i sent them a mail asking how long would it take for my i20. i realized i hadnt filled up the fin ability fiorm so i filled it up and then within 2-3 days they dispatched the i20 via fed-ex(fedex s really fast !)

<p>To everyone: I called the OISSS today, and they transferred me through to the Director of International Admissions. Although I could not talk to the Director, I got a chance to speak with her secretary. She was indeed very soft-spoken, and told me that it took Brown, on average, seven days to process the request for an I-20. She gave me a lot of courage through her words and asked me to bury my apprehensions. I feel a lot better now!</p>

<p>blue_box: well they mention the sevis fee on whatever documents related to it you get from your college… and well they’re different departments the visa one and the sevis one… the HDFC fee is for any person applying for a visa(any category,etc.) and the SEVIS fee is an additional fee for students</p>
