The Indian Thread (TiT) #18

i am on a tight budget , tippu  . unlike most of the others, i only have a 4k $ scholarship.
p.s.- the dell speakers beat my old acer’s which i thought were the frickin best laptop speakers around.
i am sooo in love with this thingy. the macs maybe the in thing, but i love this thingy much much more than a mac user loves his mac!

plus, i heard maggi or similar noodles cost muuuuch more in the us
and the ready to eat packets cost approx rs 45 here= abt a dollar.
but i dont suppose it is worth it if i have to compromise on more important things , space wise.

ans, problem with maggi noodles is that it is a low density package. if u pack them too tight then they crumble.

macs r not the in thing - linux rocks. give it a try with an external drive. i think u can even boot off of a usb drive. what i hate about windoze pc is that u have to install buzzillion crap to insulate it from viri. most makers sell with a bunch of crap preinstalled and u can never get rid of them and if u muck with those awful dlls then u r screwed. it is the software. when u buy a new pc everything feels dandy and then slowly the performance deteriorates because of all this msft crap. too bad i can not live without a pc and then there is this adobe stuff. man, it feels like their stuff is full worms. they seem to want you update ur installation every other day… i m sick n tired of pc junk… sorry i m in a bad mood.

anir, i didnt get anything from you…

bluebox, haha this is a stupid question, but how tough is it to get into med skool…?

btw, anir, whats your pin? im getting my blackberry later today

I’m not an expert with med school at all. =(

And that’s a very vague question. It all depends on your performance in the MCAT, your GPA and your institution, your essays, LORs, and interviews. So its a lot like college admissions.

Again, I’m not an expert with this, but there’s a whole forum dedicated to med school:
[Pre-Med & Medical School - College Confidential](Pre-Med & Medical School - College Confidential Forums)

I think you’ll find everything you’ll need out there. :)

will it make a difference if i go somewhere like harvard as compared to like nyu?
i know nyu is a good school… but harvard is obv. more prestigious

thank you blue box :)

I’d recommend you read this: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/pre-med-topics/9848-general-premed-advice.html

Its a very good post.

thank you bluebox for the help! <3

(10char)

Dumb charades is the coolest game ever, after playing it with friends for hours i feel it is really awesome!!! Couple of intelligent friends sharing common intrests makes the game more fun when you guess the names of movies in ten seconds flat.

Why dont you all just join up a chat session or facebook for the crap u guys discuss here? 849!!! pages between u guys and hardly any discussion on what CC is meant for !

Welcome to TiT #18 Mandrake. How is Lothar? Are you taking good care of Narda?

@mandrake: welcome to tit. You’ll partake in the “crap” as well… Wait and watch lmao

oh hay mandrake
where in india are u from

bubbles, he is from Xanadu. Came here to rescue sacred CC from our frivolous chit chat.

@mandrake:

FB isn’t anonymous and each of us aren’t connected via FB! Plus TiT is an age old tradition on CC where Indians discuss all the ‘crap’ under the sun SO if you have a problem with the crap I’d suggest you do not check this thread out…PROBLEM SOLVED!

Oh btw I’ve made it a rule to drop any universities from my applying/tentative list which are being advertised here. I came across Texas A&M and George Washington, dropped both. :P

^ “education” in US is a big business. next bubble to burst.

heyy
10 char

Won’t burst. Education is an investment with HUGE returns if utilized properly.
Everyone who has the cash will pay the high tuition fees.
There’s no dearth of people with cash.
