i was talking about movies

Just using an example, there. Movies are a different issue.

just wondering, do a lot of kids from MIT get into med school

Blue Box - Thats just one case and the court actually didn’t know what to do with them and one of the guys sued em back. Nothing happened after they tried to sue down loaders.

We don’t stop piracy in India because its convinient that way. Every home does not have the capability to spend 5,000 no a single copy of software and some softwares even going up a Lakh sometimes (Adobe). Unless they price it according to Indian needs - piracy is going to be rampant in India.

I remember games used to be Rs 2000 but now they have come down to less than 1K. And thats really good!

Okay, firstly, I hate piracy and renting out DVDs is pretty cheap. Secondly, I got ms word and ms excel full versions while I have to pay like 3000 bucks or something for the ms pwerpt and one note thingy. I got win7 home premium I think. And the proxy websites rock- I am not implying I use them. I won’t risk my education or a 950 dollar laptop for a frckin movie. The MacBook I would get fr 950 would be a lower end version and my Dell could kick it’s ass. Totally. Any opposition?

@bubbles the guy in 21 did

edit-the first two lines may give off a wrong impression 8)

@aviatorpenguin and any other person who thinks softwares are expensive thats exactly what i’ve been trying to say all night USE FREE ALTERNATIVES AVAILABLE, YOU DONT HAVE TO PAY A SINGLE BUCK FOR THEM

Yea, a guy sued em back, you think that’ll work? And this is just the beginning, you know. You don’t even have to be sentenced, even if you’re convicted, you’ll be in violation of your visa rules, and you’ll be deported. Its not a trivial issue.

And what really irritates me (no offense, or anything) is people who defend piracy. Engaging in piracy is one thing, and going ahead and defending your actions is another. Especially the “its too expensive so I steal” argument. That argument is very dangerous. If you can’t afford a car, should you steal it? And why not? Many people can’t afford cars. They shouldn’t be so expensive.
Defending theft is a terrible idea. Piracy punishes those who work and develop their products, and rewards those who sit back and click that download button and justify it to themselves by saying, “They shouldn’t make it so expensive” when its actually the developers’ product.

You have a problem with Win7’s price? Use Linux. Its free. Steal that.

do i need to buy a pendrive or an external harddrive???

what do you guys think about 7-8 yr med programs? are they worth it?
or is it better to go just the traditional way: 4 yr undergrad of any choice, 4 yr med skool of any choice?

It depends upon personal preference.

Bubbles check ur cc inbox

jbubbles: I’d opt for the second one, it has more flexibility, unless you’re unsure of your ability to get admission into med school.

if itransfer some songs frm my ol’ pc to this baby, will i have a pir### prb? cuz most of the songs have been taken frm friends and the sources of these can be, ummm, well, not too good :(

The risk with songs / movies / other “passive” files is not nearly as great as the risk with pirated OS’s.

no pirated os for me. just spent a good 3500ish bucks on the office student edition . bought it frm croma. the one they sell on the internet is 120 frickin dollars!

also, now tht u mention it , i have heard of cases of flash drive examination on airports.

i never thought id like a hindi song after listening to the likes of metallica , led zeppelin, but i heard the song give me some sunshine -threeeee idiots a minute ago, and i fell in love with it.

anyone carrying indian food-incase u miss it/?
LIKE ready to cook meals, stuff etc?
i was advised by a senior to carry a million packets of maggi noodles and the haldiram snacks etc

ans, u get all that in Indian stores here. those air tight packets from MTR etc cost approx $2/packet depending on the store. probably expensive if u convert to Rs. so, if have space then it may not be a bad idea.
