The introverted, private, intuitive highschooler

Nice posts. Thank you!
A lot of these ring true for my house. My son is willing to discuss issues and he likes to debate, especially about technology, science and religion. He is also very personable and active in school and relates well with teachers. I ask him how come he appears more extroverted in school than home and he replies that school is his “job” while home is his personal life and he sees those 2 things very differently. He actually at one of his talkative days said to me how he looks forward every day to come home and be by himself. And then he finds ME waiting for him … ha ha ha ha

I am trying my best to understand him and I think when he will be an adult we will do better. I think what makes things worse now is that as a parent at times I feel the need to “prod” more to make sure things are ok.

This is interesting. I realized my H is in many ways an introvert. He has to remember to ask introverted S about his day–or some days they would have no interaction at all. Just sitting on the couch side-by-side, on their laptops!

But H talked to me just fine when we were dating. I think it’s the opposite sex thing. ;)

And we need to find S a girlfriend so he will have a reason to talk to someone about things other than computers. :D
