I also own goog in a similar way as aapl except that I bought the put spread when I bought the call spread so I’m a bit better covered. My breakeven is 743. Max gain = ~17, max loss ~3 to 700. They report on the 22nd. I got screwed the last reporting quarter because I was trying to sell it the day of earnings around 12:30 and they were suppose to report after 4:00. By mistake they reported when I was trying to sell and the stock dropped like a rock. I don’t expect them to make that mistake again.

I like the goog risk-reward a lot better than your aapl position. :)

If aapl rallies you can adjust your positions, if you want, at more favorable prices, and change your risk reward.

One problem with evaluating strategies is the price of the options change. Who knows where aapl is going to trade tomorrow? Where the options are going to trade?

I might trade some aapl options myself. A little gambling is ok. Nothing major.

Yes - I’ll have to play it by ear?

I guess…

I reread the article you posted doct and I think there is some truth to what the author says.

I kind of like the article more than my initial reaction. I shouldn’t be so quick to be negative.
The call option owners that can’t afford to exercise and own the stock are going to put a lid on the stock this week. The put owners that can’t afford to sell the stock are going to put a floor on the stock. These factors might not be the overwheming factors. These option owners may play a small part or a larger part. Nobody knows. But they do play a part. The open interest is pretty large.

What the F***!

I guess you saw this…

I saw that last night - not a good sign in the near-term. What is the pm price?

Stock is 504+ right now…up from 497…

I believe that’s an old news. Very similar news came out in Dec. Scully theorized that it may be because they are preparing to roll out iphone 5S. There’s also speculation that Apple may be switching to Sharp glass screens.

Any gamblers out there willing to buy aapl thru earnings?

Doct, can’t tell which rumors are real and which aren’t.

You should root for Aapl to close slightly below 500 this week. Below 500 or above 530 or so.

If the stock closes below 500 at this weeks expiration, your risk drops 8 and your profit potential increases 8 bucks a share.

Not gonna lie, this part made me laugh.

I noticed that, too. I see a lot like that these days. Do they rely on dictation to write?

I’m just not smart enough to figure out what’s going on with these rumors. It appears to me this stock is really being manipulated. Some say its old news, some say the reduction is due to the fact that their biggest quarter is this one - the holiday one so the following quarter will naturally have less sales. At this stage, tech is making me nauseous.

Yeah…you are on a ride…

There is an Apple group on Facebook that I have been stalking. Quite helpful. It should be easy to find. Am I allowed to post a link here?

I believe so
