Psychmom, CTL is one of those divvy stocks I picked up in 2009. I bought my shares almost $30 so I’m holding on to it. Right now at the curr px of 33.28 the div yield is 6.96%. That is still a good yield. But I’m still figuring out whether I should buy more when it dips back to below $30.

Thank you, KrLilies…glad to interact with you once again although I still miss the greenie fun. I started a position in CTL which means it will soon dip below 30!

Unloaded my iwm calls that expire Friday and bought csco 3/16 18 calls for 2.88.

Csco…

[Icahn buys 14 million shares in Herbalife, eyes options for company - Yahoo! Finance](http://finance.yahoo.com/news/icahn-others-acquire-stakes-herbalife-233119030.html)

This is fun!

CTL is a stock I wouldn’t touch with a ten foot pole.

HFL was a huge buy at 24 but I will short it if it hits close to 56 on a squeeze.

I would leave shorting of herbalife to others…or use puts…

[Herbalife Soars As Icahn Goes Medieval On Ackman, Reports 12.98% Stake In The Company | Zero Hedge](<a href=“404 | ZeroHedge”>Zerohedge)

“Remember when Bill Ackman told Icahn on CNBC he should tender for the company (to a less than favorable reply)? Well, Icahn may have done just that: moments ago the belligerent billionaire just reported a 12.98% stake in Herbalife, adding that he intends “to have discussions with management of the Issuer regarding the business and strategic alternatives to enhance shareholder value, such as a recapitalization or a going-private transaction.” Needless to say, the stock soars, and it remains to be seen if the epic short squeeze that we predicted, and that Icahn confirmed on TV could happen if there is not enough float to satisfy all the shorts, will be next. Volkswagen anyone?”

Ackman’s short is too large. He is vulnerable to a big squeeze.

"*
In short- could HLF, with 24% of its stock short, and where institutions control more than 76% of the shares outstanding, become the next Volkswagen squeeze play, and send the stock soaring far higher than ever before, in the process destroying Ackman (assuming he has still not covered his short), Tilson, and anyone else still short the name?"

In a good short squeeze sometimes capitulation is obvious which means the top becomes obvious. If this happens in HLF, I will short HLF for a good ride down. HLF is a dog and once the big shorts are out there is no one else left to buy the stock. Carl Icahn is a brilliant investor but an idiot when he comes to actually enhancing the long term growth prospects of a company.

Well… I guess when the squeeze is over you can short the stock, but herbalife’s stock is going to be very hard to borrow for awhile…

Which is good…

I wouldn’t touch herbalife with a 10 ft pole. Too many big guys who know way more than I ever will, involved and where every word they utter is broadcast and impacts the stock

Doct, smart post.

I thought herbalife would be trading higher today. This may sound weird, but if herbalife’s stock closes here, I think the first round goes to Ackman. Of course, there will be many rounds.

Looks to me like there was some insider trading going on in heinz. Too much of a coincidence that option activity heated up right before heinz received a takeover bid. Heinz is too dull to have that kind of option activity.

dstark, Care to share your prediction for aapl closing price today?

Mine is 470.02

Love the decimal points! I am praying for 475.

I don’t really have one. I let option trading tell me. I don’t see anything yet that gives a strong indication on where aapl might close today. Option activity in aapl this week might not be high enough to determine the closing price of aapl.

I am more concerned with ddd and whether it will hold 60. :)

me too - I’ve got those 2/16 60’s, my 55’s should be ok

Just did a quick short on HLF for a small profit. Vol is great on the stock this a.m. Earning come out Feb 19. If they are good (which I expect), it will shoot up and we will see the short term top.

Razorsharp, you were able to borrow herbalife stock?

Yeah, doct.

Ddd has earnings and the split coming out after next week. So…I am only going to play ddd for one more week. I don’t want to be involved in ddd after next friday.

I am not in love with the way ddd trades. The stock is a little too jumpy for may taste.
I would have liked to see more support at 60.

I am offering 75 of the ddd 50 puts at a nickel that expire today. I was the first offer, but with option trading occuring on multiple exchanges, I am not getting any fills. These multiple exchanges are a pain in the butt.
