The investment..speculation, out right gambling thread

Got any ideas of what I should do with the 60’s - should I hold, roll out to the 60’s next week or the 55’s next week and lose a few bucks?

Too early for me to decide…

There is a chance the 60’s close out worthless…

No 2 hour walks in the morning for me today. :)

I had no problem at all borrowing HLF. Of course, I am not trading thousands of shares like the hedge funds are. I big order might have been hard to short.

I suspect the HLF CEO will make sure he has good earnings and that will run up the stock Feb 19.

I thought herbalife would be hard to borrow.

I was able to put in a short order at schwab. I am surprised. (I cancelled the order).

I thought hlf was on the hard to borrow list and you had to pay interest to short the stock. Maybe Ackman didn’t cover his short, but I guess other firms did cover their shorts.

The ddd’s are way too volatile for me to be comfortable. I wouldn’t normally do this type of stock but my standard stuff like iwm etc have sharply reduced volatility at a time when I expect volatility to increase.

I understand. I feel the same. I will probably buy the 60’s in before the close if the premium keeps dropping. Otherwise, I might roll some and cover some.

I am not short that many 60’s puts this time. I was short more last week. I don’t trust this stock. :)

I sold the spy 143 puts for .08 today. They expire in 2 weeks. I only did this because I am long marches. The premium is too low to do this.

I also wanted to own ddd - when it was going up - not so much now

:)…

We should have just copied BCEagle91 and bought google. :)

Yeah - I guess I should have paid attention to the candlestick pattern for goog

DDD reminds me of AEM back when it was a high beta stock.

I don’t understand why XOOM is trading @22 right now. I thought the IPO px of $16 was high.

post#4892, dstark, yes, I agree the options trades before the Heinz deal is extremely suspicious. One of the Najarian brothers pointed that out yesterday morning.

Well…the ipo price was expected to be lower. When IPOs price above the expected pricing range that is usually a positive.

Other than that, who knows why the stock is priced at 22?

Ichan is about to go on CNBC. I thought he said he would never go on Scott Wapner’s cnbc show again.

I watched the interview. The interviewer did not understand Icahn’s option position. The interviewer does not understand options.

Ok…my cell phone broke. I broke down and bought an iphone5. My first smart phone. It is cool. I can see why people like these.

Now I can walk around and trade and be oblivious to my surroundings. :)

I bought the aapl 435-430 put spread ratio of 1 by 2.

I thought that I was the last guy to discover the iPhone.

I bought back the ddd 60’s that I sold for .41, earlier today for .45 - I decided not to roll it out - my first put selling loss. It looks like I’ll be ok with the 55’s though so net I’m positive for ddd.

^ I’m still using a “basic function” phone with an actual keyboard.

Verizon gets enough of my money every month already.
