The investment..speculation, out right gambling thread

First off, cool that you worked on Firefox. I used to use Firefox a lot before I started using aapl products.

What is Firefox going to give the consumer?

I was responding to the seeking alpha article. I have a feeling Wall Street doesnt know what it’s like “making” a product.

I really don’t know outside of being cheap.

It’s easy to work on the browser - download the source code, make your changes and test them (well, easy for an engineer). Working on their phone requires you to have their hardware and they’re only giving them out to some people.

Google has been getting contract manufacturers to make their phones. Google used to sell the Google Galaxy Nexus which was just a rebadged Samsung phone. Their current phone is made by another manufacturer. It doesn’t really matter who makes Google’s phones - they make money on the advertising so what they want is lots more phone out there. It doesn’t matter if they’re made by Apple, Samsung, Motorola, Sony, LG, etc.

BCEagle91, thanks.

I am long affx. Echhhhhhhhhhh

I guess that is toast.

Never mind.

affx - I don’t get it - I see no change in price

Look at a chart.

I am looking at a chart - stockcharts.com. It shows affx = affymetrix is up .26%. Its been in a band between 3.7 - <4 and it has uptrending 50 day mvg. What chart are you looking at??

You’re looking at affy not affx

I did not have my glasses on. I feel better already .

Good. Berlusconi - Berlusconi??? We think we’re screwy. A comic up against a philanderer?? This is why the market is in a funk???

Bought YUM. I don’t expect it to go up much any time soon. It’s a really long term play for me.

Got killed in Nat Gas. My signals said short but the market said its going up and possibly trend reversal to bullish.

Didn’t watch the market the last 10 min. I guess it got hit.

Long term holds are ok even though they aren’t mentioned much here.

IBD said the market is in correction. Time to go to cash.

It its in a correction, its time to go short.

I want to short NFLX but having been burnt in the past on the stock it scares the daylights out of me.

I wouldn’t short individual stocks. I would buy put spreads on the indices - spy, dia, iwm

It will come back up tomorrow, wouldn’t it? It went down too quickly to stay down, I think.

Right now - I’m not liking this market.

I moved to cash yesterday to watch it a bit
