FB down to $26.50. Anyone still playing that one? I was out at $27.5 several months ago and thought the rocket had left the station, but it is back.

If you like nibbling on grapes, try freezing them. I like to pull them off first, so I have these little sherbert-like spheres to chow down on. My favorites are the champagne grapes. They’re really small so they don’t freeze your teeth. It’s especially refreshing during the hot months. Just don’t let them thaw out…they get pretty bad.

BCE just keeps going. Should have held that one.

Hmmm… I might try that grape idea.

Razorsharp, I haven’t really looked at fb, but we just had this tremendous rally and fb did not participate. So what is the catalyst?

Aapl…I am happy. Covered the 440 straddle. I was short 440 puts. Covered those. I am going to leave the 430 puts alone…

I did not feel like waiting until the end of the day to cover this time…in case the market gets goofy at the close…

Sold a couple of 425 puts that expire next week in aapl. I may increase this or sell
others…

Always good to be happy on Friday afternoon with five minutes to go.

so do I get called out of JPM at 50? Clearly I get exercised on 50.5 puts and not touched with my short 49.5 puts… but those 50 calls…

NJres, did you want to be assigned? You sound unsure what you want…

“Always good to be happy on Friday afternoon with five minutes to go.”

:)

Did u exercise yesterday deep calls if you had any in spy and qqq, doct?

I prefer to keep my position unchanged, which only happens if I get exercised on the 50 calls, because I know I will get exercised on the 50.5 puts. I know it doesn’t sound good, selling at 50 and buying at 50.5 but I sold over a point in total premium.

So I may have a double position in JPM which doesn’t bother me either.

I sold the spy 148 calls, the bac 10’s, xlf 15’s that I had. I didn’t roll out any of them. I didn’t have any qqq., but did buy 3/28 dia 140 calls and 4/20 jpm 43 calls.

Well…i would say it is less than a 50/50 chance…but you seem to get assigned every time…so…it is still less than 50/50.

If the stock rallies over 50 in the next half hour or so…your chances go up.

Getting a point is good…

You could pay a little to get the position you want.

You don’t have to let god decide whether you get assigned or not. ;)

Spy had a .69 div. Went ex div today. If you didn’t exercise yesterday you lost .69. Since you sell premium for 20 cents…

.69 looks like a lot to give away.

Dia was also ex div… 30 cents.

NJres, you can buy cominations in Schwab retirement accounts… So you could have bought the 50 calls- 55 puts in jpm for maybe 53 cents. One ticket charge which is cheaper than getting assigned on both option series. Yes, still a per contract charge.

^^ I don’t see anything in Schwab or etrade that says either of those went ex dividend and they always do. I also don’t see any evidence in the prices

This is from etrade on dia:

Alert me when
DIA reaches:

It says monthly div on your list.

Dia pay dividends every month. So every month you have to be careful.

Put this where you can see it.

http://sixfigureinvesting.com/2010/03/2010-ex-dividend-and-pay-date-information-for-dia/

If you bought dia today you are ok.

It was ex div today.

Be careful if you still own dia next month. Dia is ex div every expiration. So you have to exercise the day before expiration if dia is solidly in the money.

Iwm is on a different cycle. So be careful there too.

If you use yahoo finance you can bring up options. Look at how much spy is down compared to the in the money options that expire today. Spy was adjusted. Spy is down .20 or do. The itm options are down .90. Right?

I noticed that dia is every month but spy is every quarter and there is nothing about ex div on either etrade or schwab:

I’m not responsible for Schwab or Etrade. Smiling.

I’m p***ed and called schwab. Based on the last ex div date which was 12/21, I assumed it would be around 3/21 and I would see it on schwab since in the past it has appeared. I also purposely didn’t buy spy calls today assuming that ex div is next week. When I talked to Schwab, they couldn’t believe it wasn’t there and are going to escalate it and get back to me on Monday. I’m sure they’ll say, we’re sorry that this happened and I’m out some money.

Sorry about that…
