$452 is the 50% Fibonacci Retracement from the Feb 11 high.

When I can’t see obvious patterns for support/resistance, I look at MAs and Fib Retracements.

GOOG looks like it has a date with the 50 DMA.

I sold 5 spy 155 puts that expire tomorrow. I did this because the market is up 66 percent of the time on the day before Good Friday. I had to leave for the last couple of trading hours so I didnt have time to look at anything else.

I may do something else tomorrow, but I doubt it. I think the S&P will hit new all time highs tomorrow.

"Two regional Federal Reserve presidents said they want the Fed to keep buying bonds through the end of 2013, while a third official said the central bank isn’t doing enough to spur economic growth. “We should continue our large-scale asset purchases of Treasury and mortgage-backed securities through this year – although the amount may need to be adjusted up or down, depending on how the economic situation evolves,” Boston Fed President Eric Rosengren said today in a speech in Manchester, New Hampshire. “This is a point when we have to be patient and let our policies work,” with stimulus “firing on all cylinders,” Chicago’s Charles Evans said to reporters.
Gasoline for a fire? This was posted shortly before the close today.

My account was up more than I had expected so I looked around in the history and found a nice dividend from the QLDs. Why do the QLDs pay dividends? They must hold some of the actual stock. Strange. I’m going to have to do some more digging.

Qld does have holdings. Aapl is a very large holding. Qqq is a large holding. Both of these pay dividends. Msft, intc are all part of the holdings.

So you are still long aapl if you are long qld. If, just an example, if you are long 200,000 qld, part of that $200,000 is aapl. More than $30,000 maybe. (Aapl is also part of the qqqs which is part of qld. This increases aapl’s weightings in qld). My numbers may be slightly outdated. They are close.

Tza has no holdings. A bunch of derivatives…

I thought that the QLDs were all done with options to achieve the 2X effect. I guess not.

Yeah… There are real stocks in qld.

I didn’t realize qld consisted of stocks and thought it consisted of derivatives of some sort.

Qld has derivatives in it too…

Can’t see the video.

I hope the futures rally…

The es futures are down right now…

wow! now there’s a pleasant surprise. I own some DEMBF… I think that was from the SLE breakup. I wonder why it’s up 27% today!?

And thanks BCE. I was planning on just holding onto AAPL as a “portfolio” position, but when you mentioned you had sold it, I thought… “why would I just hold onto a position and let a great profit which has already been cut in half turn into a loss?” So I bailed out of my messy position yesterday including buying back calls and buying back puts that I had stupidly sold near the highs.

Looks like the company is getting taken over…

Congrats…

Thanks! I did the google search and found nothing. 12.75 Euros is more than $16… I owned SLE and when it broke up I got some DEMBF, some HSH which I sold yesterday, and a big cash dividend.

Nice…

I sold more puts in appl and a few in goog. The aapl puts are the 410s. I feel like I need a bigger cushion in aapl now. I don’t love the way aapl is trading. There might be a little pressure in the stock from call buyers who were speculating that aapl was going to increase its dividend or a new product or something. Now the call buyers need to sell because they can’t afford to exercise and own a 445 dollar stock. The call owners sell the options, the buyers today hedge by selling something
else including the stock.

Just one factor though. Maybe aapl just sucks today.

AAPL is slightly below the previous downtrending resistance line. If this doesn’t hold, then I would expect the uptrending support line to hold.

I sold the goog and vlo 4/5 puts.
