ewy is down almost 5% in 5 trading days - I guess NK is irrelevant.

Well…the 155-151 put spread works better…

Buy 3 spreads for 1.30 each… 3.90.

Below 151

Profit is 1110

Buy 1 jun 555 put for 3.80…

Profit at 151 is .20.

At 140 profit is…1120…

For swindlers, drug lords or just your plain vanilla 1% or those rolling around with their quarterly gains, here’s how to stash your cash:

Choose a haven - I picked Barbados

Create a secret identity – for ex., an offshore trust

Open a bank account - for ex., Scotiabank Private Client Group in Barbados

Move the money- I picked smuggling gems wherein you buy expensive jewelry then sell it for cash in the offshore country

Invest the money: If I invest $10M for 25 years at 3%, my offshore gains are $20M vs the onshore gain of $16M so I save $4M in taxes.

Spend the money

It can be fun or not.

Are you implying that some of us are swindlers or drug lords? Doct has already been accused of having his head up his a…

(I don’t care about razorsharp’s save).

PS I do like Al Jarreau. Haven’t listened to him for awhile.

Buying the 155 - 151 put spread = -1.31, breakeven = 153.69, max gain = 2.69, risk reward ratio= 2.05

Buying the 155 - (2 x 125) calendar spread cost = .04, breakeven = 155, max gain = 30 to 125, risk reward ratio = 750. I’ll buy the 125 in December (its a 20% correction) if necessary or roll it out With a 10% correction to 140, max gain = 15. The problem with this trade is not having access to my money because of the 2nd 125 short.

Could also do 155 - 125 calendar spread = 1.85, breakeven = 153.15, max gain to 140 = 13.15, risk/reward = 7.1. The difference between this breakeven and the 155-153 spread is only .54 but the potential profit is significantly greater.

Well…then go for it…

I am not really in love with your analysis…

OK OK - I get it. How about this analysis on the 155 - 125 calendar put spread. On June 22nd if the 125 put is bought back on that date (I probably wouldn’t do this but wait until December or roll it out if it goes to 125 sooner) and the spy is at the prices listed below:

spy = 155.86, 155 put = 0, 125 put = 1.01 (cost = 1.85 +1.01 = 2.86)

spy = 150, 155 put = 5.00, 125 put= 1.621 (profit = 5-1.621-1.85 = 1.529)

spy = 145, 155 put = 10.00, 125 put = 2.37 (profit = 10 - 1.85 - 2.37= 5.78)

spy = 140, 155 put = 15.00, 125 put = 3.39 (profit = 15 - 1.85 - 3.39 = 9.76)

The point however is that I wouldn’t buy back that 125 put but wouldn’t achieve the full value of the trade until the 125 put expired in December.

Ok… That is much better…

You are ok with being short puts for 6 months?

(Some traders are).

I was thinking more about the latter–rolling around on your quarterly gains.
As it turns out even more mundane doctors and dentists have secret offshore havens (http://www.nytimes.com/2013/04/05/world/europe/vast-hidden-wealth-revealed-in-leaked-records.html?_r=0)
Were all by the book here in CC, I think. No ill-gotten wealth. No tax evasion on our part.

I havent listened to AJ for awhile. Just remembered him when you guys started talking about jazz.

Krillies, thanks for the link…

We read all the time how we shouldn’t raise taxes on the wealthy because the wealthy
dont have enough to make a difference anyway and then we read that 21 Trillion is stashed away…

21 trillion is a lot of money…Larger than the government debt of the United States.
Quite a bit larger than any fraud is social programs…a bigger number than money spent on social programs…

(i know some of the 21 trillion is owned from citizens of other countries).

It is a shame hiding money is tolerated if not encouraged…
It has negative effects on those that dont hide their money.

Well I guess the jobs report should eliminate all that mealy mouth talk about the fed taking away the punch bowl any time soon

Market is getting hit pretty good today…

Wonder where the markets and the economy would be without all this stimulus.

Of course, the world wouldn’t need all this stimulus if 21 trillion wasn’t hidden.

Well according to Rick Santelli, in better shape. I just listened to this guy. I’m convinced he’s lost his mind and should be institutionalized.

I am trading really s… Today…

I could get my ass kicked today…

I am short puts and calls…

I need the market steady…

Aapl is getting close to that horizontal line…

My google position is going to be smaller after today unless I do something…

Can’t decide what is going to happen…

The daily chart in spy is ok… So far…

me too. The s&p is at a key technical level 1546 - right at the bottom of that box that some have referred to here. I’ve got 17 IWM 4/5 93 put contracts that I have to roll out. I’ll probably split it between IWM and some other stock I want to own. Unfortunately, I only hedged part of the spy calls that I bought last week and have no downside protection on the q’s which I thought would get a bounce. VLO has bounced pretty well the past several days and probably caused some pain for those who tried to short it unless they were very quick.

I’m tempted to buy csco again

Cisco?

Ok the daily spy chart had weakened which I prefer… Today.

I am talking the minute to minute chart for the day. Not the daily… Sorry.

csco got hit because of F5 warnings as has the whole tech sector, today is an ex div date with the div = .17. Haven’t bought this yet. I couldn’t resist buying bac however

I still see that south Korea doesn’t seem to care about the north as evidenced by ewy.
