The investment..speculation, out right gambling thread

I don’t see much of a break in the MCD chart. Maybe I’m missing it, but I wouldn’t short it yet.

Well finally had a decent day in the market. Now if I can only get a few more weeks like today.

Nice … Doct…

Well I guess it’s not a good idea to have shorted jcp!

Yes, BCEagle, no matter how you slice and dice MCD–daily chart, 5 min, 60 min, the MCD has a bullish chart.

Johnson is kicked out as JCP CEO!

I want to get out my short puts on JCP. I don’t want the stock now that Johnson is gone. He is a genius even though he could not make money in the short run. His successor will be smart to follow his plan because JCP is now a place I want to shop. I did not want to shop there much in the past.

Looks like you will get your shot tomorrow to get out razorsharp.

It doesn’t seem to be a place that anybody else wants to shop. You must be an outlier razorsharp

If you visit the stores that have been remodeled they are materially better than they used to be. The presentation is substantially better and the products are better and cheaper. Maybe Johnson has not been able to make money because the products are so inexpensive.

maybe those shorts still work in jcp. Apparently they don’t like the new guy either. I haven’t been in that store for years so I don’t know what goes on in there.

Jcp is trading below 15. The Initial euphoria faded…

I’m screwed. I don’t want the shares without Johnson as CEO, but the shares won’t go up with the new CEO who already failed at JCP.

That Ackman guy is in this one also - maybe he bugs out.

6-month charts of the indexes. $INDU is clearly the strongest.

That title is misleading. He’s saying to stay away from PC companies - specifically Dell and Hewlett-Packard.

I like both of doct’s links but I think both titles are misleading.

The first link about how often we have 5 and 10 percent corrections is great.

The second link about not following hedge funds is good advice too.

BCEagle91, thanks for the charts.

I had orders selling fb puts but I cancelled the orders for now… I might put them back on later today. I am not sure. I don’t think fb is trading great…

Edit: ok I did put a selling put order back in… S… It.

Facebook is bouncing around between Fibonacci retracement lines.

I think that their announcement last week was a major contributor to tanking GOOG’s stock. As one of the many people that doesn’t use Facebook, perhaps I don’t understand but I’m able to use Apple and Google devices and services just fine without Facebook. But perhaps GOOG just needed a reason to retrace some of the huge, recent gains. I’m not in the mood for buying or selling and am relatively happy with my positions. That may change though - more likely based on technicals than fundamentals.

My guess is the fb announcement did affect goog.

I don’t think fb is trading that great, but I am selling otm puts so I wouldn’t be buying fb here.

I sold a few more nke puts today… The may 55 puts. Looks like nke is in a very tight trading range. If nke tanked, I would have to buy nke below 55. I don’t like going out to may expiration so I am not selling very many nke puts.

I usually trade small every day. My long term stuff I don’t touch.

The spy made a new high earlier but the market did not take off. Hmmm
