Yeah - why would anyone want to defeat Bush?

Soros is not a socialist. Really…

You are a trader…

Do you think markets are inherently stable?

Do you think that markets should decide everything?

So if a firm comes in and just wants to buy all the copper in the world, that is ok?
By the way, before you answer, the exchanges don’t believe this. There are position limits.

It depends on the time frame. I just found out the hard way that markets are not stable in a five minute period of time. In a 5 year period however, they look pretty stable to me.

No. Who I marry is up to me. On the other hand, what if we could crowd source our intended spouses? Would that lead to a better selection?

No. The Hunt brothers tried that with silver long ago and it was wrong. As you suggested, the SEC has limits on how much of a company people can own without announcing a takeover bid. Didn’t Soros try to manipulate several currency markets?

Did I get any answers right?

Razorsharp, do you really disagree with Soros?

“Soros, however, is a supporter of capitalism:
“I want to make it clear that I do not want to abolish capitalism. In spite of its shortcomings, it is better than the alternatives. Instead, I want to prevent the global capitalist system from destroying itself” (Introduction).”

““The functions that cannot and should not be governed purely by market forces include many of the most important things in human life, ranging from moral values to family relationships to aesthetic and intellectual achievements. Yet market fundamentalism is constantly attempting to extend its sway into these regions, in a form of ideological imperialism. According to market fundamentalism, all social activities and human interactions should be looked at as transactional, contract-based relationships and valued in terms of a single common denominator, money. Activities should be regulated, as far as possible, by nothing more intrusive than the invisible hand of profit-maximising competition. The incursions of market ideology into fields far outside business and economics are having destructive and demoralizing social effects” (Introduction).”

““Market fundamentalists have a fundamentally flawed conception of how financial markets operate. They believe that financial markets tend towards equilibrium Financial markets are characterized by booms and busts and it is quite amazing that economic theory continues to rely on the concept of equilibrium, which denies the possibility of these phenomena, in face of the evidence. The potential for disequilibrium is inherent in the financial system; it is not just the result of external shocks” (Introduction).”

I don’t think socialists are happy with Soros.
I don’t think you disagree with Soros.
I guess you are a socialist too.

Poetgrl,

That is a great article.

^Thank you for sharing the article. I am afraid tho Wall Street has a way to cheat money out of you without ever breaking any rules blatantly.

there are no rules for wall street, just you.

So much for free markets…

The banks…echhhhhh

No criminals there…

This is all well and good - in Rolling Stone. How come it is ignored in the news media as a whole and where is the outrage?

Long AAPL (short-term trade, just 200 shares)

http://img689.imageshack.us/img689/7431/aaple.jpg

Matt Tabbi writes some excellent articles for Rolling Stone. Whenever I see one of his linked, I know it’s worth reading.

He also [wrote a book](http://www.amazon.com/Griftopia-Bankers-Politicians-Audacious-American/dp/0385529961/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1366988821&sr=8-1&keywords=matt+tabbi) that’s probably going to wind up on my book stack sometime.

I’ve found a lot of Rolling Stone’s in-depth coverage articles to be pretty terrific. They’ve had a few on Scientology that are jaw dropping.

I guess the market no longer believes the amzn hype - its down almost 20. Surprisingly, next week’s puts below 245 are actually dropping. I guess volatility has come in because its after earnings but it is still strange to me.

Do don’t trade interest rate swaps and could care less if they are fixed by a bunch of crooks.

I went to an airport the other day and had to pay $4 for a 20 oz bottle of lemonade. That’s about as crooked as it gets but of course the airport is owned by a government entity so it’s ok to steal from me.

Sold 420 puts on AAPL for May 3. Bought 415 puts on AAPL.

I usually just use the free water fountain if I’m thirsty. I can’t afford $4 for lemonade - too many calories.

Razorsharp, really? Lemonade?

Good luck on your aapl put spread… You socialist. Lol

I sold iau

Doct, nice trade.

Now is it ok for gold prices to drop? Lol

I am using an iPhone to trade and it is not always easy to read. I tried to sell some baby puts in jcp that expire next week.

I thought the bid size was 116.
Turned out it was 16.

Just a small difference. Lol

I bought Lemonade because I gave up drinking diet sodas. The junk they put in diet sodas is even worse than all the calories in Lemonade. Lemonade is the favorite drink of socialists. Soros loves it. I should have sipped from the water fountain but water is so boring. I need a little excitement after being victimized by TSA.
