The investment..speculation, out right gambling thread

No surprise, there’s been plenty of signs of a weak-bellied recovery for the last half year.

Easiest trade from here is to sell short-dated AUDUSD calls.

CollectivSynergy, if Bernanke comes out with QE3 AUD/USD would skyrocket due to the convergence of the weak dollar and risk on trade. If you really bet on market weakness using currencies I would suggest looking into AUD/JPY.

The dollar is in an area where I don’t see any problems with it dropping 5 to 10 percent - that may actually be a good thing. The dollar is down today on weak employment so that’s a downside risk too - I think that QE3 this summer is the logical thing to do.

What is QE3 going to do for the economy?

Last I looked…rates were pretty low. :)

Working on infrastructure would help…doesn’t look like that is in the cards…

Stimulates consumer spending through higher asset prices.

I think this indirect stuff is losing its effectiveness.

[Record Low Interest Rates Stiff Savers and the Economy | Daily Ticker - Yahoo! Finance](<a href=“Record Low Interest Rates Stiff Savers and the Economy”>Record Low Interest Rates Stiff Savers and the Economy)

I like the comments after the post…

'stimulates the economy through FAKE higher asset prices…When people look back on this charade in many years, it will be a case study of fraud

Yes, lower rates will help, lmao. :)

Helps all those that don’t need the help

Ok…I have to check how long I am…i am not comfortable unless my stock positions are a very tiny portion of my assets…:)

any good stocks to buy?

What do you say doct?

This is my worst day of the year…so do you want some loser names? :)

It is the only game in town at this time and probably for the next six months. Is doing nothing until the end of the year preferable? I’m waiting for the next shoe to drop in the form of mass layoffs.

I don’t know - sold 6/8 spy 123 puts; bought back my iwm 6/1 75 puts and sold 6/8 iwm 74 puts; trying to sell my iau 6/16 calls. I’m looking at perhaps buying some more aapl, maybe wmt.

Unless the Fed buys stocks directly…

QE is not going to work…

And even then…it might not work…

The money has to be reinvested…

So overpriced assets are sold…overpriced assets are bought…

You get a little extra spending…but such a small segment of the population owns stocks…

If people could get mortgages…real estate would do better…you can get stimulus there…

But really…even though working on infrastructure isn’t in the game…
that is what can work…

That will create jobs…create income…Businesses would do better…because the private sector would get the contracts…

The US economic decision making is so awful…

This country deserves to be in the sh…

Probably should hang some of these politicians too because of their ridiculous economic policies…or at least force the politicians to overeat sugar.

(I watched the sugar video and liked it a lot.)

Doct…you have balls…

Looks like they already do that.

Lol…

Echhhh…whitney tilson is going to be on cnbc…

I hope he still owns BKS…telling people the stock is worth the high 20’s…he better own BKS…

If I buy aapl, I’m buying it with lots of hedging. The aapl calls that I currently owned are already hedged from 560 down to 540. As far as those puts, I’ll just roll them out again next week. I expect that I’ll have to do that with those iwm puts - for which I collected another .41 through buying back the 75’s and sell the 74’s.

Yeah…balls…
