Yeah…MSFT…if it announces a new tablet…is walking a fine line…

I wonder why Trader Joes doesn’t keep both stores open?

"It is Not just you…many people do this…maybe most… I love long term analysis to explain short term trends…

We will see…

There is this short term frenzy about what Greece will do…

In the long term…it doesn’t matter.

If the central banks step on the gas and print more money…it is bullish."

In the long term, the sh** is going to hit the fan. The Greek election on Sunday will not be a positive development - no party will have enough of a plurality to form a viable government exactly like the last time. I doubt that central banks will act that quickly including ours. I don’t understand why the talking heads try to determine some hidden meaning in what Bernanke is saying. He’s not Greenspan and is very clear in what he says. After Monday, we may get a short term bounce. Personally I hope the market really tanks on Monday because then I’m going to load up the boat with stock. This probably won’t happen because a lot of people are going to stupidly assume that somehow this stuff is going to get fixed - it won’t - at least not for a very long time.

The new store is about half-a-mile away. The old store’s parking lot is too small. And it would cause staffing issues.

BcEagle91… Ok.

See qdogpa…long run problems…short term trading…not always in sync. ;)

It is not bullish, it is bullsh/!, lol… It is not investing it is gambling, just because the central banks throw money at the problem ,doesn’t solve the problem, so while the markets may go up because of the flood of money and implicit backing of our Fed, it doesn’t mean the economy is ok…there will be a time when you can ‘invest’ with a bit of confidence,or you can gamble with the central banks and Fed next week…

I prefer to gamble at a casino,at least it isn’t rigged or fixed, and the drinks are free. ;)

It is gambling.

I don’t know if throwing money at problem doesn’t solve the problem. I see people all day long asking for money to be thrown their way. Some of these people are billionaires…so they seem to think money thrown at them solves problems. :)

I don’t know how the economy is going to play out…

When the crisis first happened, I ssked, "what would happen if the central banks just printed money to make up for the decline in asset prices?

I was not sure how it was going to play out. But I see that with all the money printing… we have ended up with rising bond prices. I see that we have rising stock prices despite the fact that the public is selling stocks continously.

And now…I do see some positive things. Residential real estate prices
have probably bottomed. The supply of residential real estate is decreasing. Hotel occupancy is back to levels last seen in 2007.

I wish the US spent more money on building and repairing infrastructure. It would have created more private sector jobs. But politically it was a
non starter…even though it was good economic policy. The US lags in infrastructure spending throuhout the world. That is pretty stupid. I wish the country would do more to deal with income inequality. Why? Because
economically…the distribution of income and wealth is very important to
an economy. But politically…that is a problem…so the country does
stupid things.

Qdogpa, What do you mean casinos aren’t rigged?

Unless you are a card counter…the odds are stacked against you.

“Don’t gamble; take all your savings and buy some good stock and hold it till it goes up, then sell it. If it don’t go up, don’t buy it.”
Will Rogers

I like Will Rogers.

You know the odds going in,lol…who knew what was going on with Enron, or Worldcom,et al…those odds are unknown, you think the businesses are legit, and they turn out to be frauds…retail investors have learned and that is why volume is terrible…Now the professionals are trying to outdo each other…i laugh when i hear a talking head says the market will move ahead ONCE retail comes back…i read that as they will sell into retail, and once again, pull the rug out on them

Yeah, qdogpa…

Well…My career might be over because retail isn’t in…

Luckily…I have a sense of humor about this issue. ;)

(Retail would have been better off if they weren’t selling the last several years. But…I can see why retail wants out).

We got down to 12,003…doesn’t that count as 12.000 and we’re going to race to 13,000?

Was it that low, I know I was close intraday. ;)

No…sorry…

Hmmmm…I see yahoo finance has the dow getting that low…

I don’t ever remember the djia getting that low…

Hmmmm.

Missing by 3 points…

That is What you get for using round numbers. :)

6% in two weeks; not bad. I guess that’s why the market feels sideways to me.

This is what I remember as the low…

12,035.09

You have to enter the date. The low was jun4, 2012.
Looks like yahoo finance takes the low of each individual stock in the index for the day and then calculates the djia. The problem with that is stocks aren’t hitting lows at the same time.

12,000, before 13500, without a doubt. ;)

I did not get assigned on all the MSFT calls… About 60 percent of what I was short…plus it turned out I bought some calls for a penny. I didn’t catch that at work. I didn’t realize I would get notified on Sunday by e-mail. I thought I would have to wait until Monday.

So…if the stock is above 30… I will be happy…and if the stock is below 30 on Monday…that is ok…I guess I will just be happy. :)

And the pro bailout parties won in Greece…all the panic talk…“Oh my God? What is going to happen? It is going to be a catastrophe…”

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Greece…no panic,no fear and no hope

Up 8.5 es futures so far…

Not a huge move…but the market did rise into the election…
