The latest from FountainSiren

Girl can write!

No kidding. I’m really impressed.

Nice clean mind at work.

We are in the company of someone who is going to have an impact on our culture. I wish she were at Brown.

Excellent. Thanks for linking.

This is amazing.

CC develops a strange disease and needs to revert to a three-old database. And as a result, this thread finds itself unblocked and, in my humble opinion, at the perfect stage.

Let’s keep this thread as unblemished as possible and leave the displays of not-so-well veiled hypocrisy to other subjects.

So, here it goes … congratulations to FountainSiren for a job well done.

A self-cleansing thread! What will they think of next?

hey, the cc mods are onto something. GREAT job, FS.

Anyway, FS has another piece out which is also very thought-provoking. Here it is:
http://www.dartreview.com/archives/2006/01/20/forbes_keys_off_mlk_day_celebration.php

Amazing the “plus” side of this otherwise yucky phenomenom of losing the last few days’ posts!..

FS, you are truly a very good writer and congrats on getting published in the school paper early on in your college career. It is refreshing seeing someone who writes well, though excels and plans to go into sciences. You are pretty daring on that second piece with regard to the faculty at your school! Good luck to you and keep on writing.

Good luck and thanks for the “spiritus loam”–erased but not forgotten!

Very nice! Congrats on a job well done! :)

After some deliberation among the Mods, we’ve re-opened the thread with the caution that things be on-topic and respectful. That’s our expectation for every thread, but some seem to be more likely to head south than others. Thanks for your cooperation.

Without saying anything about FS- we are to not comment on a published critic of others?

A person can critic others, yet cannot be critiqued

Interesting which posts were “magically” deleted due to cleansing

SO delete away

Uh oh. Well, I think it is fun to get updates on CC kids’ progress via a link to a published work like this. I enjoy seeing what they are up to in college, so here’s hoping this thread doesn’t derail again!

Not holding my breath, though . . .

I hate to rain on the parade, but I find the article difficult to read. The writing is too pretty, too much of the time. I would like to see a few more short simple sentences thrown in for those of us who aren’t good enough to get into the Globe Theatre.

“Interesting which posts were “magically” deleted due to cleansing”

Regarding the “magical” deletions, there is nothing interesting nor nefarious taking place. Days of posts were erased when CC got crippled by an unusual problem that affected the entire database. Since this affected EVERY forum on CC, only a bit of attention would have been required to identify the issue correctly. There is no need to post innuendos a day after explanations were provided by the admin. In case you missed it, you can read the “juicy” details:

yes, but I guess (and am only guessing here) that the original FS thread was locked, and then this restarted thread was also locked along with a warning not to restart locked threads, and now it has magically been unlocked again… am I confused??

xiggi is right and you, NJres, are also right…

Xiggi is right that the missing posts on this topic are not unlike the fact that there are missing posts on EVERY thread from the past three days due to an computer glitch…which is posted on the forum and affected the entire forum.

NJRes, you are right that the original FS thread was locked by a moderator, Obiwan, and then this thread was also locked by that moderator. However, if you read Roger Dooley’s post on this thread today, he made a decision in collaboration with all the mods to reopen this locked thread. Did you see his explanation? That post answers your query!

No NJres, you are correct. I saw the locked notice that appeared a few hours ago.
