The Macaulay thread

Thanks again Dramamine for the response, and as I expected most persons probably don’t have the time in between GERs and volunteering.

Have you found it hard maintaining your minimum volunteer hours?

Now when i think about it, this thread is useless for me. If i have stay here for college im going to NYU for engineering. not city college

Does anyone have any idea when during the day the e-mails will go out - first thing in the morning? at the close of business? How about if the results will be posted on the VIP page (or whatever it’s called)?

If S gets accepted, there is a VERY good chance he will attend. We live upstate, and his being down in the city for college would be a great opportunity for him.

Dramamine, if he gets accepted, we’ll probably drive you crazy with questions! :)

All the campuses send out their acceptances separately. In fact a few years ago, baruch macaulay decisions were only received around march 20th. Let’s hope we get ours promptly!

Draminine: if you take an honors class at CUNY does it count as a normal class on your transcript or do they somehow weight it?

My friend was just accepted to Macaulay CCNY

And I applied to Macaulay Hunter as my first choice and I just checked my VIP Page- I was accepted :)

Congrats

Accepted to Macaulay baruch! Got the email quite early this morning- Good luck to everyone!!

Well, that stinks. S hasn’t left for school yet, and he hasn’t gotten anything - via e-mail or his VIP page. Big sigh thinking that there’s a good chance only the acceptances have gone out and the rejections will go out separately. I won’t share that thought with him though. BIG CONGRATS to those who have been accepted!

My friend found out last night. Did you guys get emails?

I got in at Macaulay Hunter! Phew at least that’s one down, 4 more to go. Good luck everyone :)

Ivyvision, so glad to hear you got in! You were really helpful in finding out information (suggesting the MyChoice page for Hunter decisions)! I got into Macaulay @ Hunter this morning too!

Okay - in case it’s of help to anyone, I just called Macaulay and was told that the acceptances are being sent out throughout the day in batches by campus. The woman I spoke to said all of the rejection e-mails will be sent out late morning.

From the conversation, my distinct impression is that we can expect S to receive a rejection since Hunter has already sent out acceptance notices. She did not want to confirm that to be true in case he got into a non-first-choice college that hadn’t yet sent out its batch, but he didn’t get contacted by any of the other colleges, so it’s doesn’t seem like that’s very likely.

Feeling kind-of sad - we took time off from work and school to embark on an 8-hour trip to Manhattan and back for a 20-minute interview that sounded like it went well. I wish they had sent all of the e-mails out at the same time so we would just know for sure already.

So will the Macaulay decision come to our respective email addresses or to the Macaulay VIP page? I haven’t gotten any decision so far…

Thanks!

The woman I talked to said they would all be delivered via e-mail. She said not to pay attention to the VIP page because they’re not kept up-to-date (???!), but that confused me since others seem to have seen the acceptance on the VIP page.

Well, this is interesting. I was going to write that S’s VIP page still says “Your Macaulay is application is being reviewed.” but I just checked and now it says “Congratulations! You’ve been selected to join Macaulay Honors College at Hunter College!” I’m so happy and relieved that I think I’m going to cry.

So, Alpha, I hope you get good news soon too!

rejected. Oh well. lol Good luck and congrats to the rest of you!

Oh…I just got the email, and I was rejected by Macaulay. Congratulations to all of you who got accepted, and have a great time there!

fosterte - Thanks for the reply! And congrats to your son for getting through! :)

Can anyone on this thread advise on difference between Macauley Honors program and the Deans Scholar program. Both sound great but are they similar?

I just got rejection letter from macaulay. I was wondering if i got into the honors program? How do we know?

Deans scholar program is pretty much the same thing. Free tuition, etc.
