Yeah mine was about Baruch housing. And no, I’m not from stuy goin2college

So, are there two types of phone calls?

One for Macaulay = Housing
One for Baruch Honors = doesn’t talk about housing?

@12love, The call was in short mainly a congratulatory call. They briefly touched on the fact that there were new housing opportunities and promised to send out more info regarding them next week. They also asked if I had any questions.

Yes, my dad got that phone call and I wasn’t there. My dad told me that that person mentioned something about housing and that I got into Honors. But I am not sure which honors I got into.

Man, I really want to go to Macaulay. What are the main differences anyway?

Ugh, someone people on CC are saying they got a call about getting in Baruch Honors. Kinda making me think I heard it from but I could have sworn the lady said the word Macaulay and that I should receive the mail in the upcoming week.

@Significa,

Don’t be worried, from other accounts on CC, it seems that those that were accepted into Baruch Honors were made well aware that it wasn’t Macaulay. In fact, the person I spoke with only referred to it as ‘Macaulay’ and never even used the word ‘honors’ as it was mainly about housing.

Just got into Macaulay at Lehman. I got it in the mail yesterday. Excited, though I am waiting on other colleges before I make a decision. My main issue with lehman is I dont want to live at home (I love my home, I just don’t want to stay there for college).

Congrats, Airiek,
It is good to know you are in such a resource rich program. Just curious, why didn’t you apply to one of the three colleges (City, Hunter, and forget third college) that provide housing for Macaulay Honors students? Was it because of the majors offered at Lehman?

Oops, looks like we are both off on this topic. Lehman is the third college to offer housing for accepted students to Macaulay. This is according to the Macaulay website (refer to FAQ section for prospective students). So it looks like your housing concern is not an issue (you can live away from home in a CUNY dorm). So this is good news for you, no?

Again, congrats for getting into a highly selective program!

Baruch just added new housing, I wonder if Macaulay plans on supporting the housing :P

In case any one is wondering. Macaulay admission results go out by snail mail as of today, 3/15/10, and expect the result to reach you in around “2 business days” (per gal I spoke to at Macaulay contact #). The only college sending out electronic results sometime today (results not out as of noon today) is Hunter College to Macaulay Hunter applicants.

I’m waiting to hear from Hunter. They sent out the email for their regular college at 5 pm on Feb 10, maybe it will be around the same time for Macaulay. I’ll probably just nap until then, I’m not digging the stress. My life plans depend on getting in to this school haha.

No email from Hunter yet. Are you sure they’re sending one out? And is it just acceptances, or also rejections?

Same. So nervous. I won’t be able to sleep tonight…

jv,

Sorry, this reminds me of the scattered bureaucracy when sonny was submitting his application. On day of deadline for Regular Decision, MaCaulay could not trace sonny’s recommendation letters even though they were sent well in advance of the deadline (1 month before). Why am I not surprised that this info may not be accurate? However, to give the office gal the benefit of the doubt, today is not officially over until 11:59 P.M. tonight.

So hopefully, the M. Hunter College applicants will get electronic notification sometime this evening. If not, everyone will just have to wait for snail mail to wind its way to respective geographical locations of applicants.

I imagine the notifications are for both acceptances and rejections (indication that ALL notifications will go out by 3/15/10).

They sent emails at 12:43 apparently haha.

I got in though so I’m content :)

dino,

Super congrats to you! I was suspecting they might go ahead with e-notices after 12 AM. However, sonny did not receive one as of this A.M. Hmmm, wonder if only the acceptances to M. Hunter went out early this A.M. and rejections follow later? (Referring back to an earlier post on this matter.)

All right, All Hunter M Applicants,

Called same office this A.M. Referred to a Hunter College Office and informed there was a crash of the computer system at Hunter College, which they hope to fix by “today or tomorrow.”

So, after all that, snail mail may get to you first before the electronic notification. Dino, you’re one of the fortunate ones who somehow got the notification before the crash. :))

Any one know how Queens notifies MHC applicants - snail mail only?

Has any one heard from macaulay at city?
