The MOB/MOG Dress Extravaganza!

I literally just heard about the tanning drops the other day! I started looking a bit but it helps to have some feedback from others.

Anyone use tanning drops?

My daughter has used them. The product is Tan-Luxe. She is fair, had results she liked. I also use Jergens.

I love the dress!

I love your dress, love the layer and cutouts! I am confused as to what you mean by waiting on the bridesmaids. If they aren’t matching, but using that color palette, are you just trying to coordinate with those shades?

I only tan my legs with Jergens in the summer, so I can’t help you. Sometimes I’d like to do my arms and chest but I worry about a difference in color with my face/neck. Is that something that might be of concern to you.

I’d start now and practice. See how long it fades. My self tanners usually stay about 10 days on my legs.

That dress seems like it would be amazing with your skin color, abasket! Exciting!

I have used Dermablend leg/body makeup for removing all skin flaws from legs - it stays put for over 24 hours (esp if add a little setting powder). Really great.

Love that dress!! :+1::+1::smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Pretty sure the bridesmaids are going to each choose one color in the color palette I posted above. But for instance, if no one chooses a certain color, then I might choose that (different but not crazy out of line) - I wouldn’t want to have a same color as a bridesmaid!

D will probably just tell me, ā€œwear what you like!ā€ but I feel I have a little time to pause and see. Yep, I’ll aim to try a tanning product sometime this month.

I love that shade you chose! I do agree it will look beautiful with your olive skin and what a great color for spring.

I attending a wedding this summer where all the bridesmaids wore different shades of a bright bouquet and it was beautiful. I didn’t think I’d like it when the MOG told me about it, but I really did.

That is not a color I chose or choose but it’s the one for some reason the page keeps linking too, lol. I do like color but in keeping with spring, I’d rather not do jewel tones but would do navy! I’ll post when/if I choose one!

The colors they are choosing are very ā€œthemā€. Nature, plants, fresh, modern.

When my son got married I used Jergen’s on my feet, and it really helped. I was tan from being active outside, but I have to wear shoes for activities.

The caveat with doing the self tanners is making sure you get it distributed evenly in all the places that would show with your dress - and some places are harder to see and reach on your own. You don’t want to be ā€œstripeyā€ or miss someplace completely.

You have time, so I would try some products out now (drops are best mixed with lotion for better distribution), but maybe also consider trying a professional spray tan (from a person vs. a tanning booth). Professionals will be very knowledgeable about the right coloring and you can tweak the level of tan you want. Many will come to your home.

I am ok being fair skinned on face and arms. (Though in summer I’m outside a lot, so even with ample sunblock I get a little darker.) My legs are pretty ugly, especially now that I’m older and thinner… veins showing more. For formal affairs, I prefer to have long (or longish dresses) or sheer black pantyhose. Perhaps next summer I will try some kind of self tanner lotion for semi-casual times.

Thought this gang might enjoy these fashion photos (gift link). Mostly tasteful, didn’t notice anything outrageous. It was fun to see how much taller Bradley Cooper is than his mom, more than the 10 inch difference between me and my son.

Sorry, no. I laughed.

LOL - I missed that one. Wow.

Heidi Glum in the red dress was my favorite girl dress, but I bet I’d have a different one if I saw them in person. Lots of detail is list in photos.

However, my fav look belonged to Timothy I can’t remember his last name. Loved the black sequin jacket.

Loved Natalie Portman’s dress and Simu looked great in the classic tux. Overall the dresses seemed a bit…can’t quite put my finger on it? They didn’t flatter the wearers. Didn’t really like most of them…maybe they looked better in person? And I’m not a fan of the odd suits/tuxes.

My daughter’s wedding dress, and my MOB dress both had pockets! I didn’t think I’d care, but having pockets was very helpful!

My MOG dress had no pockets but honestly I didn’t miss them.

Loved Natalie Portman’s dress, too! Ryan Gosling looked great! Oprah looked amazing. And I love Billie Eilish but that outfit was awful.
