The New Official 2011 Wait for AP Scores Thread

@jallidalli
my experience was that in IB you can strive on hard work alone, where as in AP, really you can work as hard as you want, but if you don’t at least have some talent for the subject matter, or at least in subjects like physics or math or english, you won’t succeed. I preferred classes and tests where I could do less and get a better score, relative to other people I mean. Since while I’m not the brightest person in the world I’m sure, I’d definitely test extremely well relative to other people on just about any academic test provided none of us are allowed to study before hand. the concept of studying has screwed me because other people do it which forces me to do it :P

That sounds complicated probably my school couldn’t keep up with it. But that seems weird to me. I’m just not used to it though. I like AP lol

I just didn’t see as much substance in IB as in AP, but a lot of schools are starting to recognize the IB diploma

@silonthesofa
What university are you at, in the UK?

Don’t they close at 5? So wouldn’t they have to release them by 5 if they were going to today?

silonthesofa- That might’ve worked for me, cause after 2 years of physics B (honors then ap) I sat down for the test and realized I knew nothing…although this year there definitely was way to much electricity, and not enough kinematics. Okay well kinematics was the only thing I ever understood. But I never understood C level. I’m just not a physics person. lol

@I3auer-WHAT?? Trevor better stop playing and post the score lol

It’s the other way around actually. IB is internationally recognized. AP is just starting to gain some momentum. Colleges like IB more than AP, but obviously not all schools (most aren’t) IB-- so it’s not like you are penalized if you take AP but no IB.

do we have to pay $8 each time we call, even if they’re not available?

No you do not.

no…

LOL
No! You have to give them your credit card before they even have the ability to charge you!

If it closes at 5 then there are only 9 minutes left

@I3auer- No, if you’re talk IN the United States. AP is recognized wayy more than the IB diploma. Outside of the US is another story.

How would they make you pay when they dont even know your billing info, let alone your name.

@swebber, I was at st. andrews at the start of the year. was offered interviews by UCL and imperial, but couldn’t make it since I was living in LA at the time, and hence they both rejected me on principle. st. andrews didn’t work out for me so I took a leave of medical absence in november and reapplied to schools in london, closer to my family and civilization. Imperial was sympathetic to my situation and offered after an interview to take me on the condition i retake the phys C mech test and get a 5 (the only exam in math or physics that I didn’t score a 5 on, on account of medical absence from school), and UCL gave me some BS story about how the criteria has shifted as a reflection of the increased number of applicants… BS because you can’t dispute my scores regardless how many people apply. so yeah, that sums it up. lol. I was told a few weeks ago i tell stories like a chick, so i apologize :)

that is unless he releases them tomorrow

Is everyone here on the east coast?
I’m in the midwest, so it’s just going on 4 pm here. Sounds like I’m the only midwestern person on this thread!

So if the scores are not out by 5 PM, all hope is lost for today?

You guys gotta calm down with Trevor. I hope hes getting a lot of fun watching you guys suffer with anxiety over these scores. Everyone in this thread who are worrying about the release time are very impatient people. What happened with patience is a virtue?
