The *Official* 2009 AP World History Thread

^ you’re most definitely in the range

When you guys talk about writing x number of pages, do you meant front + back = 1 page?

Or front = 1 page, and back = 1 page.

My essays are starting to look like they were awfully short.

2 1/2 pages for the DBQ, same for CCOT and CC. (this is front = 1 page, back = 1 page).

I just can’t understand how you guys wrote so much. Initially, I thought I did a fair job of providing details, but now…

Most of you guys said the MC was easy… Did you find it easy because you have answered that question before? Or just you know from studying? Because I didnt recognize a lot of the questions from practice test.

Also, one of the WH teachers at my school said the rumor going around WH was the the COT essay was going to be about decimalization after imperialism in Africa… but that wasnt the prompt. Did anyone else hear about that?

If you didnt finished an essay will they still grade it?

I didnt have time for a conclusion for the DBQ (I wrote that one last)

Yeah they will still grade it. You’ll get points for whatever you have written.

I also thought that the MC only really focused on a few regions, and basically only those regions. Did anyone else notice that? It was really frustrating because I spent so much time studying these major and important areas of history that weren’t even mentioned once in the test.

^ Yeah, I thought that was pretty weird. Maybe the content of the test varies from year to year?

I noticed that very, very few MC question were from the time period 1914-present.

My AP world History teacher told us that the AP world test is made up by Islamic scholars…That is probbably why there was so many questions on Islam related topics…PLus the MC were around 1200-1800s mostly around there

^I don’t know about whether they are Islamic scholars or not, but these are the people who develop the test/course:

can we talk about the frq’s now?

^ id say that we can start talking about them as soon as the cb posts them on their website.

<a href=“Supporting Students from Day One to Exam Day – AP Central | College Board”>Supporting Students from Day One to Exam Day – AP Central | College Board;

Ok, for the CoT, what other events did you guys talk about other than atlantic slave trade, stratified social systems, encomienda, etc

Does “1500-1830” mean we can talk about things that happened IN 1830?

bfacundo, thanks for the link.

I cannot seem to find the page on ap central. Do you know if the Macroeconomics has posted yet?

i talked about the Indian Removal Act of 1830.

Can someone answer my question of what I would get on AP World History Exam. I think got at least 50 of the multiple choice questions right and at least 5s on the DBQ and the Change over Time essay? I didn’t answer the last essay question about racial ideologies at all because I didn’t have time and I didn’t know anything.

is it safe to talk about the frqs?

lakerboy23:

that would be a 3 assuming you got 50 right, 20 wrong, and 5, 5, and 0 for your essays

you should’ve at least BSed a thesis for the CC essay, that would’ve given you a 1 for that one, and a 4 for the test

yeah, it’s safe, collegeboard posted them on its website
