UConn student here. You probably have a 99% chance of getting in hahaha :slight_smile: I’m not sure about out-of-state (maybe they’re more selective there), but in-state I got in with my slack-off 3.2 GPA from high school, so you shouldn’t even have to consider not getting in here.

If you want to know anything about the school, feel free to ask.

Honestly, you have an excellent resume, I bet you’ll be going to a great school :slight_smile: Good luck!

P.S. What’s your top choice, just out of curiosity?

Hey Calam1tous! or @Calam1tous I don’t really know how this works haha

thanks for the feedback! UConn is kind of the school my parents want me to go to, since it’s close to my state and is affordable… my top choice though is UC Berkeley. I’m really striving high haha…Cornell and Univeristy of Chicago are probably #2 and #3, but UConn is definitely an option.

-chair of two committees, one that organized a youth candidate forum
-other focused on raising school engagement, I started a focus group project with disengaged youth
This is my huge EC, takes like 10 hours a week, has tough application process, and is nationally recognized as a model program for youth leadership/voice.
I’m worried they won’t really know that though?

School newspaper:

Awards:

My essays were very strong, had a lot of feedback. Wrote one about learning/overcoming/growing from the suicide of a close family member, related it to my ECs and being a writer.

Essays:

I think they were pretty strong - my best one was probably the “Defining Experience”, where I talked about how organizing the event at my school helped me discover my hidden leadership potential. The others were deemed good, too, by those who read them.

So… do I have a chance? :slight_smile: or is my UW UC GPA too low?

@jackson61
I think that you have a very good chance of getting in. Your SAT scores are great and you ECs are too. THe only thing I would recommend is to get a few more volunteer hours and although your unweighted GPA is a just a little low, your SATs cover it up so you have a very good chance

@joshuaget12 - thanks! Yeah, volunteer hours are a bit iffy for me… and I know my UW GPA’s sort of on the low side… Here’s to hoping we get in! I just got accepted to Davis/Santa Cruz… BUT also waitlisted from San Diego, so I’m not sure how much of a chance I have…
