@credulitykills nothing too interesting. Just some stuff related to courses I was taking and if they transferred to UCLA. Most interesting thing I found out was that there is no equivalent course to the class that all Linguistics majors need to take, Linguistics 20, offered at any CCC.

Does anyone know if we have been notified about all the scholarships yet? Or is it possible that there are some left that haven’t informed us?

I JUST GOT MY PACKET IN THE MAIL TODAY AND IT SMELLS LIKE PLAY DOUGH! :D

Mine just smelled like glue :-/

Can anyone give me some clarification on housing assigment priority at UCLA? I emailed UCLA housing and they said it doesn’t matter when you submit the housing app (no priority if you send it inlater) as long as it’s before June 1st.

So how did some people get the idea that the date you submit the UCLA housing app matters?

my friend who goes to UCLA says IT DOES MATTER, but now I’m just confused. Help? THANKS

I just SIR’d to UCLA today!!!
*anyone know how financial aid works over there?

Which item in the packet did you sniff @onehandedred? :p

@randombookie I talked with a housing representative and they said it is a lottery system, so its no different if you SIR today, or may 27th, transfers all have the same chances of getting the housing they want.

okay so out of the 16 scholarships we clicked on at the time of application, how do we know which ones we received if any at all?

I got my UCLA packed today, its the best one yet. Still not sure if I’m going to go to UCLA though. I was surprised when I got admitted.

@CollegeDropout1

I’ve emailed the NELC student advisor last year and she contacted me back the next day. The second time I contacted her, which was last month, it took her a week to get back to me.

Anyone considering ordering official transcripts and dropping it off at UCLA, DO NOT DO THIS! It is no longer allowed because like someone here mentioned, people can/have tampered with it, which renders the transcript unofficial.

@BurntCorpse

I’m going to have my community college send my transcripts for me very soon. I’m going to fill out the form and hand it in to them today. It’s way more convenient than trying to get your transcripts and dropping them off.

@Cayton

I just did that today. I struggled with not knowing where to put the “Attn: Transcripts” part on the form, so I asked the admissions lady to put a sticky on it so that it’d look like this…

UCLA Undergraduate Admission
1147 Murphy Hall, Box 951436
Los Angeles, CA 90095-1436

Attn: Transcripts

Hopefully it’ll look like that on the envelope they send it in. I don’t want my 3 dollars for the transcript processing fee to go to waste.

@BurntCorpse

Cool! I wonder why UCLA wants our preliminary transcripts when they could just wait until July so that we can send them the transcripts just one time, though…

@Cayton

They enjoy watching admitted students throw away good money.

Honestly, I think it’s a way to weed out people who have put false information on their UC application, which will give students on the waitlist an opportunity to attend.

Now that I think about it, anyone could’ve put down false information and waste a good spot back in November, and no one would be the wiser until June 1. As for who would want to do this? The same people who revive year+ old threads.

@BurntCorpse

Hmm, you might be right…you might be right.

Wait, we have to send transcripts twice? Damn it.

@RamonaFalls Yes. We have to send transcripts of all completed courses thru Fall/ Winter semester/ quarter by June 1. Then we have to send transcripts with our current courses with grades by July 15.

@2016Candles was it fall/winter?
■■■■!! i sent it through fall!
I took on non transfer class during winter
I paid $10 at my school to send them, the $3 option has a rep for taking upto 2 months to be mailed at elac lol
