Sometime in August I believe.

I don’t know why people are so livid about the housing assignments. If you want to live in a dorm you aren’t going to get your best choice, of course everyone wants to live in single in the best hall but thats life.

@Zalrons Did you enter your birthday after you accepted the offer, because I think that’s what they use for your signature. And for the payment, I think we have to use BruinBill, so we can’t pay it right away.

@24luke16, that’s what I’m thinking now as well. I did put in my birthday. I was confused because there was a form you could either sign online or print and sign and I had no idea how to sign electronically but maybe that’s what the bday thing was for. And good call on the BruinBill. Thanks!

It seems like most of the transfers have been assigned a triple in Rieber Terrace. I think UCLA just put most transfers in Rieber Terrace.

@Realgeikrak Yeah, that seems to be the case. Most people on here seem to have been placed in Rieber Terrance. What was the point of even listing preferences on the application?

Hmm maybe there were more spots available in reiber? On the UCLA page a lot of people seemed to get into De Neve Gardenia/Holly. Even though I am not thrilled about being in a triple, I’m happy its in De Neve Gradenia

De Neve Gardenia/Holly, Double!

@Jafar1234, I actually wanted sproul cove or landing. Lucky you.
It has a mix of freshman and transfers, but mostly second or third yr students.

Wow, was anyone else shocked by the price of the dorms? I would have to pay around 1200 dollars each month if i live in the dorms!

Some questions:

First, is Rieber Terrace good? I was assigned there.

Second, which payment plan should I select?

I’d appreciate it if anyone could help me here.

What is your definition of good? It’s a plaza, which is a middle-ground between the space/privacy of the suites and the social aspects of a hall. If that’s what you want then a plaza is good.

If you’re getting financial aid, select the financial aid option.

Is commuting to UCLA a viable option. I live 45 minutes away from it. I would have to go through the 405 freeway to get there.

@k4201505

Ah. Thanks, man!

I got a triple in De Neve Gardenia/Holly. Pretty happy with it…

@collegedropout1 It depends which way you are coming from really, and what time. 45 minutes on the 405 is a crapshoot at best and can easily turn into 2 hours, depending on the time and day. To be honest, it’s pretty stacked 24/7. I live on the west side, have been driving the 405 for years and I’ve never been on it without some delay. I mean, it’s famous for it’s traffic, the worst in the nation in fact.

LA is all about planning when it comes to traffic. The best thing to do is to take a look at traffic conditions online. There are several live feeds that tell you how traffic is on any freeway in LA. When choosing your schedule, look at traffic online during the time you will be commuting. This will give you the best assessment. And of course, drive it a couple times during the times you’re scheduled. Planning is everything.

@CollegeDropout1 I think it’s viable. I’ll find out this summer session where I’m definitely going to commute there. There will be bad traffic at least on the way there, probably not so much on the way back.

Yeah, I wasn’t trying to be discouraging. 45 minutes is doable for sure, you just need to prepare, that’s all I was suggesting. I’ll be doing the same thing if I don’t get UCLA and end up at UCI, 45 minutes south of me on the 405.

Good luck!

Reminder: You can sign up for orientation starting today at 3pm.

My daughter got Hitch, which was just renovated, so its a plus, but the farthest out and pretty isolated.
