The Official Fall 2014 UCLA Transfer Decisions Thread

Parents meet at Covel Commons. Go to newstudents dot UCLA dot edu and tab Family Orientation for details.

Say a department provides 120 seats for the 12 sessions of orientation. 10 seats are available for manual registration during each orientation. They were confident that a student could get the classes they wanted. Also Fiat Lux classes are available to everyone.

Thx for info @UCLAParentofKid! :))

Kind of off-topic but 13 ppl were hit by lightning at Venice Beach. A 20-year old died. How freaky is that?

@jonjon03‌

I think you can apply at orientation. Not sure if it grants priority registration, though.

I was at Venice Beach today. After the lightning. It deterred no one, and it was as packed as ever.

Didn’t get the scholarship :-<

So sorry @CSB111‌

@CSB111‌

:(

Thanks guys. It is kind of a bummer, but I guess I’ll have to find another way to get 5k. I honestly didn’t expect to get it. I was hoping it would maybe allow me to pay for a 3rd year if needed.

@csb111, I didn’t get the scholarship either :(

OH guys, how do you check which books you need for the course? Thanks

@randombookie It is a bummer. For books, if you go into the schedule and click the class, there is a tab for textbooks. It links you to the UCLA bookstore.

Also, since I’m so all over the place, I just saw that UCLA has a Computational/Math Biology minor. I want to do something cool during my time here besides some boring Econ or Accounting lol.

@csb111, thank you!

question for everyone, are you guys planning to get your textbooks now or wait until class starts?

I’m waiting til closer to October. Who knows if my schedule will change after Sept 23.

You might want to look online for the texts and skim through them, more cost effective. Then you could buy them once the quarter comes.

any of you guys know the cost for a gym membership at the John Wooden Center?

@24luke16, for the price we’re paying, that ■■■■ better be free.

It is free.

“Free” as in it’s included in your tuition.

Oh cool thanks guys
