The Official Fall 2014 UCLA Transfer Decisions Thread

Just got my daughter a DenPack for the 6 at home football games, etc. Anyone else get it? Seems like a good deal…

@lindyk8‌

I’m very tempted, but I’m poor as ■■■■, so I kind of need to save my money.

But I’ll definitely try to see at least one football and one basketball game this coming school year. And I’ll definitely try and see the UCLA-USC football game. I want to see those vile Trojans lose to us this year. :D

If you plan on going to the UCLA -USC game, you may want to think about the Den pass. That game sells out and tix aren’t cheap. Plus if you think about the games as entertainment, you figure you were gonna spend money to do something on a Saturday, why not a game.?

@Cayton‌
DenPass can bring a friend for $25, assuming there is space. My daughter will look for you, heheh.

How did you guys go about getting a work study job? Did you guys just email your resume to the person or give them a call? Can someone help me out please

@lindyk8 Did you get the season bus pass for your daughter as well? Wonder when the deadline for the bus pass is

@goodjobdaveman‌ yes, I did because it’s only $25 and depending on traffic it could take two hours to get to the Rose Bowl. And I figure the bus will be fun. You probably noticed but there is the option for two guests to football games (depending on space) and one for basketball. I noticed they will miss the first game (sept 6) but five more including Oregon, Stanford and USC!

I got a den pass. I’m def going to the Oregon, USC and Stanford games!

I know @zalrons! I’ll be rooting from afar!

lol, you guys are making it very difficult for me to not buy this den pass.

It also doesn’t help that UCLA sent me mail reminding me to get it, too. :(

That’s why I got it. We got the brochure yesterday.

@Cayton I started applying on Monday of last week. I’ve sent out maybe like 20 e-mails with my resume and I’ve heard back and interviewed two places. Kinda disappointed to be honest. The jobs I like the most haven’t contacted me back. Maybe they’re waiting until closer to the start of the quarter? I can only hope

@randombookie‌ I have it set so that the money left over after all my fees and tuition are paid goes directly to my bank account. It’s a service called Bruin Direct. You can enroll in it directly from Bruin Bill. Otherwise, you’ll get a check mailed to you. I recommend you enroll in Bruin Direct. For Summer session, I got the money deposited to my account the exact same day it was supposed to be there. I doubt it would have been as prompt with a check being mailed to me.

And damn, you guys are making me really want to buy the den pass. I didn’t want to because I saw Stanford was on a Friday and I have class that day. But it’s on Black Friday so no class… what to do?

I want to get the Den pass but I want to wait until I actually meet people that are down to go. Do you have to pay for the bus too?

Luckily I have Fridays off too. I really want school to start, I am kind of wishy washy about things so far. Plus seeing Berkeley start doesn’t make things easier.

Did anyone else receive registration and campus fees of $4000+ dated 8/20/14? Are we supposed to pay this and be reimbursed later through financial aid / loans? I got denied UCSHIP Insurance but sent the waiver appeal which will take about 30 days to process. Should I just go ahead and pay the 600 and expect to get money back later? Thanks guys

edit: I just accepted eFan several days ago btw

@goodjobdaveman‌

I did, too. You should be reimbursed after you’ve paid the fees.

Anyone else excited to find out your roomates today?

@randombookie I’m excited to find out too. Any idea what time they’ll send us the email?

@24luke16, unfortunately ucla was really vague about it. Their email just send end of the today (8/28/14), so it could be 11:59 PM haha

I suspect they’ll send email right when the offices close just like admission decisions. So I would guess between 5-6pm.

I was also thinking they’d do it around 5 like admissions. I’m constantly checking the move in page though haha
