@cochoa14, that’s great to hear!! And yeah, I’m in Gardenia!

@CSB111, I’d send you a message but I can’t from my phone. And if I try logging into my account from my computer the site will ban me again. Anyways, if you’re planning on going to the game this weekend we can pregame it in my dorm. I’m not sure if I’m going to catch the bus or ride with someone yet but you’re welcome to join me.

In fact, if anyone on this thread wants to pregame it this weekend or go to the game together let me know!

@Zalrons, CSB111
Do you guys have a Den pass? For those who don’t have a den pass where can you buy tickets?
If I go to the game I’ll go say watz up!

I haven’t got it yet. I was waiting to see if I knew other people that’d be going. I went home for the weekend to take care of some stuff but I’ll be back on Saturday or Sunday and hopefully we can arrange something.

Question about the healthcare. I got an email from the Arthur Ashe HC, stating my doctor or DO will be so and so. I looked at her reviews and it’s fairly bad. I was reading a few months back that the UC Ship would allow you to use any of the UC facilities and mostly other hospitals. So a few questions, can I change my doctor, would feel more comfortable with male doctor(some things you’d rather tell your own sex) and if I can use other faculties, which I am sure I can for emergencies. So, basically can I switch my doctor?

@Tik1127
Yes you can switch your primary doctor. The email that I received explained how to do that, so you likely have instructions on that as well.

You will have to see your primary doctor before you see any other physician, so you cant just go to another facility. The exception would be of you needed to go to an urgent care or emergency room.

I actually fell asleep TWICE during my first class today it was a 9 30 class. And my second class was full of the weirdest people, 60 freakshows seriously. I couldn’t even concentrate everyone was goofing off and playing like kids. Tripped me out lol.

bruin walk was fun

The 930 was a class I am trying to add there is not book required. I’m thinking of switching to this and dropping my scandanavian electiv only because the book readers are expensive tho lol. I’m worried tho since I kept falling alseep in that class that he’s too boring

@sonic23 I had a 9:30 class too. It was packed with people sitting on the stairs. The people in the lecture hall were pretty bizarre as well. I’m thinking of dropping my Scandinavian class also. All in all it was pretty good. Monday will be the real test with the 8am class lol.

My philosophy class today was in a lecture hall with about 200 students and a new professor…it went pretty well, actually. The professor seems like a cool guy and knows how to teach.

For some reason, my other class has four professors teaching it, lol. They’ll all be teaching the class in two-week segments I think. The professors in this class are also pretty alright.

@csb111 8am! Dam I can’t do that, I have one 9am class next week I’m scared I’m Going to fall alseep. I’m tecniqually awake but usually don’t fully wake up till 10 30. I actually used to fall alseep during early meetings at work.

@cayton I got a brand new teacher as well I kept dosing of but he seemed like a nice guy. And four? Wth lol

I don’t really talk on CC, other than ask questions, but I just felt like writing about how my first day went :). Unfortunately for me, I’m not living on campus and I’m commuting from home. At first when I made the decision to commute I didn’t think it was a big deal but yesterday I started feeling like I’m missing out on a lot. It just seemed like everyone had a huge group of friends already, and I didn’t expect to see that. I feel like I completely underestimated how hard it would be to meet people. But anyway, I was just wondering if anyone else is feeling the same?Although, from what I’ve skimmed on the site it seems like most of you are living on campus…

@Peanut0
If you’re on Facebook you should join the UCLA transfer Facebook page. There are a lot of commuters on the page a lot of people doing all sorts of meet ups. People are looking for people to go to games with, have meals with, go to Happy Hours with, etc. I know there’s a commuter class. I don’t know much about it but I’ve heard of people have found people to hang out with through there.

Lets be friends @RamonFalls. I’m also having trouble “fitting in”. Are you going to join any clubs? That is another opportunity to meet people.

@RamonaFalls I’ve talked to a lot of people/got peoples numbers but nobody really seems to reciprocate much. Hopefully it’ll get better. Most people I met are hanging out with their roomates who are also transfers. Are you in the residence halls?

@cochoa14 thanks for the offer, but I don’t want to be friends with you weirdos.
jk, it’s nothing against any of you, I just I feel like it’s “cheating”. Like, I’ve met so many people online, friends and current girlfriend, that I kinda want to do it “for real”. And I have no idea how to join clubs.

@CSB111 I am not at the dorms, so that’s also a big issue.

I mean it was only the first day for me, but it was just such a strange feeling not to talk to anyone because I’ve always been the type to talk to ppl very easily. I just hope I don’t end up regretting choosing a large UC instead of a csu. It just sucks to feel like I’m missing out.

@Peanut0 Yeah I am on campus in Gardenia/Holly. It is just OK so far. Even one of my roommates said our floor isn’t social at all. I feel like there is so much to do, like clubs, job fairs, etc…plus trying to make friends. It is pretty overwhelming to be honest.

I feel forced to make huge commitments to clubs/frats/organizations to meet people.
