The Official Fall 2014 UCLA Transfer Decisions Thread

So actually everyone’s admission contract IS different? ooh havnt seen that coming… Mine just those general stuff concerning submitting transcript on time and try to finish all the rest of my courses with C or better…

@back2it‌

Not that I know of. 80~95% of TAP applicants who apply to UCLA get in with the numbers varying according to the community college that they are coming from.

Suffice it to say that TAP increases one’s chances of getting in at UCLA by a lot. I should know since I’m a member of my school’s TAP program.

@TT4UCOSBEL‌

Most people have the same generic contract. Some have specific ones dictating what grades they can earn and what GPA they must have to retain their offer of admission.

@cayton thank you for your information :slight_smile:
@collegedropout my major is sociology. I have double checked the contact , it said 3.6 gpa in spring 2014 ( this semester). I feel weird as I am not having any major classes( but both hard science classes) but a 3.6 requires me to get a really good grade in them. Anyway, I have asked UCLA and sincerely hope it’s cumulative .Thanks

Admissions contract says this: “Maintain the grade point average and complete the courses and number of units you reported in your application and in any subsequent course updates.”

Do I really have to maintain my current GPA and not a 3.0? I’m not a 4.0 student but if I get one B this semester, then my overall GPA will still be lower than my current…

@hairlesscow‌

You’ll be fine if you get a B or two. Just don’t get too many C’s, any D’s, or any F’s.

lol I dont even know how is it fair if I got a B this semester (currently taking 5 classes, 20 semester credits) and my admission is revoked since it is still lower than my current GPA

@DaBaDee‌

I guarantee that your offer of admission won’t be rescinded for getting a B in one class.

I tend to agree with Cayton. Revoking admissions because of any drop would be an unreasonable condition. What is an acceptable drop? It is not as fair to people who have very high GPAs or people who are only taking a couple of classes, there is much less wiggle room.

@krisluo, you should definitely report it, because even though you have already been accepted they will still require you to submit your official transcripts from both High School and Community College. If they find out you got a C and you didn’t report it then you might be in a lot of trouble. However, if your articulation says C and above then you should be fine… I would still contact them and let them know. Good Luck and congrats :)

Congrets to all accepted student=]
Just got waitlisted or say rejected from UCLA Biz econ with a 3.98 GPA.
I feel so so so bad. Anyone talks more about waitlist?

@als92 @hmkufan5‌

same here ! i’ve been checking out collegboard & fastweb for outside scholarships…

Denied

Transferring from a 4 year college

@blink8 where you commuting from, I have about a 45 min commute no traffic, coming from Santa Clarita. This is something that worries me.

still not up…

@Sabrinakk Sorry to hear that man. Sounds like you were pretty competitive IMO.

@blink8 I live about 45 minutes away without traffic as well (ventura county)
However the 405 is just terrible. I hate going on it when there is traffic and it can turn my ride into a 2 hour one. I will not be commuting for that reason.

@Cayton Do you think TAP will help at all with my chances on the wait list? I mean if they find they have open spots and start evaluating again

@TWHS1994‌

Congrats to everyone! I’m a Veteran of the Armed Forces. I had a rough upbringing but the Military got me on track; it made me take responsibility for my actions. All I can tell you guys is keep up the handwork and don’t let a schools decisions discourage you. If it’s meant to be it’s meant to be, if not chalk it up to a loss and move one. Try not to compare yourselves to others in life. Stats are not everything. The schools have their own methods on how they admit people. Just be proud of your fellow man. Your day will come soon.

I am so excited! UCLA is my dream school, but I thought it would be impossible to get in. Possible hooks are: low income, first in family to attend college, and non traditional student. Went from high school dropout to UCLA in 4 years. Anything is possible!
