For what it’s worth, I read in an article about a year and a half ago that UCLA and another UC (can’t recall which) were coming on board with holistic. Onviously, that appears to have proven out to some extent. (Or perhaps it’s the public explanation used that allows them to bring in more OOS and international, etc).

@stanx89 you’re at least the second I’ve read admitted to the big leagues, but denied at SDSU. What’s with that?

@lindyk8 I think it was because I was missing 3 pre-reqs for them. I applied as a business major there. Also, they seem to favor SD residents. I was a bit upset but that’s life. I’m really happy for the guys that got admitted to SDSU though. They earned it.

I got accepted but can’t seem to figure out if they have me down as out of state or in state student. Where can I check

@ValarMorgulis Congrats! I’m a fellow high school dropout and didn’t get in, but it’s nice to see that some did

To everyone that were rejected with close to a 4.0 gpa, if u applied to cal, you’re likely to be accepted. I’ve seen this so many times so just wait until next week to hear back from cal.

@lindyk8

I was also rejected at SDSU and accepted to UCI, UCSD, UCLA as well as CSUF and CSULB. I do believe they give preference to local applicants.

Somehow I’ve managed to get over their rejection. Lol

@campfireweekend

Definitely. You’re in a better position than without it.

What is TAP? I’m OOS

@ishineinthedark tap is the transfer alliance program that UCLA has with certain cccs to have students who complete 5 honors classes in return for getting a getting some points during admission. I have a question for you, how did they tell you they had you down as oos, I can’t figure out if they classified me as in state or out

@lamelcriada on my provisional financial aid award letter, it says that I’m a non-california resident. I think that’s the only place I’ve seen it stated.

@2016Candles First of all, congrats! Did you get financial aid? I got enough that I’ll be able to cut down to part time. I’m also lucky enough to have a job where hours are flexible.

To all current community college students:

Work hard at community college. The two years of commuting were completely worth it!

@12bank Same here. Can they please just deny me already.

@lamelcriada Can you tell me how those honor classes work? I mean, does the counselor just attach an honors notation to the classes you are scheduled to take or are they specific classes? The reason I ask is, I have my schedule planned out for the next year. When I get into TAP are they going to change everything and switch classes on me? What classes are considered honor classes? Thanks.

@12bank @uclahopefultoday good to know I’m not the only one! I think it was said earlier in this thread that tomorrow would be the latest they come out, I’m sure hoping so cos I’m seriously about to lose it! Let me know if you find out anything!

A bunch of people were facing the same scenario, but most of them found out yesterday. But it seemed like most of the people on saturday were placed on the wait-list.
