The Official M10 2019 Freakout Thread

Thank you! @ilovechoateeeee

if you like STEM/Engineering or stuff like modded minecraft, then you should check out the game Factorio! its super fun imo with a bunch of automation and cool stuff, but the downside is you might become addicted. I got it on saturday and already logged 27 hours which I don’t think is healthy, but it keeps me super distracted haha

ok i don’t have any distractions planned as of now, but i have been debating on whether or not i should take the march sat, which is on the 9th. if i take it, it’ll force me to focus on it, but i might be distracted with the thought of decisions (yikes), which i wouldn’t want to happen. ah well, we’ll see how it turns out ;(

I had a parliamentary debate on Saturday, cramming for Bio test tomorrow, and also planning to watch a musical next Friday, going to States for robotics next Saturday(although our robot kind of sucks this year), then TRACK STARTS… And then I’m on a plane for the whole M9 + M10 for pure freaking out with absolutely no distractions whatsoever.

I feel so reassured reading this thread!!! I’m applying to Andover, Choate, Deerfield, and Exeter and I always imagined all the kids as crazy dedicated self assured workaholics but everyone here is just as nervous as me. With less than a month left I’m losing my mind bit by bit lol

just wonder if you heard from hackney yet. We are in the same shoes.

I’ve just been working really hard on my homework over the weekend and reading a lot!! Also, binge watching shows is quite a good distraction. I’m not doing anything on M9 (it’s going to be a long day lol) but on M10 we’re celebrating my older sister’s birthday. How does everyone’s parents feel about them going away?

My dad is okay with it (he, along with the rest of his family) all went to a boarding school, but my mom is much more hestitant and reluctant.

My dad wasn’t on board at first but after touring and talking to AOs, researching the schools etc. he thinks BS is such a great opportunity for me.

I’m late to this thread but I’m literally losing sleep over this boarding school stuff. The suspense is killing me and a rejection is better than this. Unfortunately my email is weird and I checked my junk folder and realized EVERY SINGLE EMQIL EVERY SCHOOL SENT ME HAS BEEN IN THERE FOR MONTHS. oops

Choose immediate defeat over delayed victory??

That’s right up there with the quote from the great Homer Simpson - “Trying is the first step toward failure.”

No I meant that even if it’s a rejection it would be better than not knowing. If I could be assured of delayed victory it would be much better lol

@ffsophiar The waiting is fun. How can you not enjoy the suspense of it all? :))

Just 18 days away!

18 days before today was feb 1st! days are flying by now

Saying 18 days feels so far away but then I realize teachers are already talking about tests on March 8… oof.

Yeesh. February went by so fast tho

Not just February!

I just realized y’all have the same day countdown I do, only mine is the number of days until I see my kid!! :x

Trust me our DS comes into our room every day to let us know how many days left to M9/M10. We think he’s excited and truth be told we find the wait difficult also.
