Wow. Wish that was our cost! Proctor is $75k for boarders next year.

Groton has the GRAIN initiative which keeps the tuition low and over 40% get FA!

Hey guys….I don’t mean to cause unnecessary panic or something, except when I was randomly browsing through my gateway account, I discovered that for one school I applied to, the candidate profile I submitted was never downloaded, nor were the essays. Their school portal does indicate that I’ve completed my application.
Well…it doesn’t matter anymore at this time of the application cycle… just wondering if this is simply a technical error that occasionally happens or if the school never saw my application. :smiling_face_with_tear:

@UnknownUser404 How do you find out on Gateway that your candidate profile was never downloaded? From the checklist page, we can only see that everything, shown in green, was “submitted”.

However, in December 2023 that all the teachers that we requested for letters of recommendation completed the form, we saw it showed as “submitted” on Gateway, while on the school portal still showed as “awaiting”, though letters from other teachers being submitted on the same day, properly shown as “received” on the school portal. So I emailed the school (a week later), and was told that the letter was just in that day, and they updated the status on the school portal. Everything on Gateway still shows ONLY as submitted as of today.

So come back to my original question, how did you find out that the files was never downloaded?

Well…for every other school, it shows “xxx was submitted + time &downloaded +time,” so I kind of assumed that not having a “& downloaded + time” means it hasn’t been downloaded. But I can’t be 100% sure.

edit: This page (as in the photo) shows up when I click on “Part 1”
And what I’ve said above are just my assumptions so…correct me if I’m wrong.

@UnknownUser404 Thank you for sharing the screenshot. I usually only stay on the checklist page, so I didn’t see the detail about the upload date and download date. But you are right that the detail will show once we click on each separate section: part1, part2, and part3.

In our case, when we pointed out that why the school portal still showed as “awaiting” the document, we were told that we should use their school portal as the main reference to check if all the required document were received.

However, your case is kinda strange. I think you should send an inquiry email to your AO, asking about this. Otherwise, it will keep bugging in your mind “What’s going on?” If they have already got the files, then it doesn’t matter what is shown on the Gateway. But if it indeed has not been downloaded yet (but I doubt it because it has been like a month after the deadline), then they will do it now for sure.

Good luck!

I had never seen this detail before. When it works like it is supposed to, this is reassuring to know that someone did download your files.

received an email today from my top choice that decisions come out at 12:01 and if i don’t get in i just won’t receive an email
is this evil or am i tweaking (i’m tweaking)

Hi, I usually just read and don’t write but I was wondering if anybody else received a box of chocolate from Emma Willard. The chocolate was good and apparently it was for Emma Willard’s birthday. Idk it probably doesn’t mean anything but I hope they accept me I need more of that chocolate.

A box arrived today for my daughter too who is applying for 9th grade next year. I think they sent it to all the applicants.

@meetme_atmidnight No, the “downloaded” doesn’t mean the CANDIDATE him/herself download the file. At first, I also assumed the same thing as you because @UnknownUser404 mentioned about the candidate profile file. But if you checked each separate section, part1, part2 and part3, you will see that even the recommendation letters will let you know when it was submitted and downloaded. So this is for sure not downloadable by the candidate him/herself.

And I verified already that it aligned with the date the documents were also listed as “received” on the school portal.

Anyway, @UnknownUser404 how did it go? Did you check with the school yet? Hope that it was just some technical error from the platform side.

Good luck!

Just so y’all know, this definitely isn’t giving you the date they reviewed your materials! Since every one I checked was the day after, when the portals were updated, the downloads were probably them saving your documents to their system.

Also, if I do have a major extracurricular accomplishment in March, is it worth sending the admission offices/my interviewers an email?
