I would send it but I don’t know how much it will move the needle since they will be finalizing the decisions in the committee next week.
Well…I’m personally not so sure about asking a school if they “have downloaded/reviewed my files yet because gateway shows that they didn’t”. But in early February, I did updated something with my admissions counselor at that school, and her response was “it will be added to your file”, so supposedly they do have a file? If the school didn’t receive any of my materials in early February, supposedly she would have mentioned that in her response(?).
Now that I think of again…that school had their own application portal alternative to gateway/SAO, where I did start an application but never completed it. I ended up using gateway, but this might be a reason why it wasn’t “downloaded” on gateway but “completed” on the school portal.
Just guessing though…
i emailed the arts director at one of the schools i applied to (coincidentally my top choice…)
and they never got back to me. am i screwed or did it probably just go to their spam folder (please tell me what i want to hear)
I would not worry about it, The art directors and other staff are usually busy and some may not have the inclination to correspond to all the mail they get. It should not affect your chances one way or another.
it should affect my chances??
pls tell me that was a typo i’m actually tweaking over this
Sorry edited above
oh no worries
i think now is the time in the admissions process where i need to completely cut my caffeine intake because i end up staying up way too late and having nightmares (while awake) of my imaginary worst case scenarios lol
Don’t worry. The decisions will be out in 2 weeks. Hopefully the reality will be better than the imagined scenarios.
When in March tho? Anytime beyond like March 2nd is probably too late. That said you should send it regardless but I doubt it’d help after that date.
Yes, except internationally, unfortunately (at least to our location). My daughter applied and was accepted last year, but never got them. It is definitely something they have been doing for at least a few years.
Makes sense. They sent it so that it would arrive on Emma Willard’s birthday, and it’s both more expensive and harder to get the timing right for international applicants.
i would cut my caffeine intake but my family is arab which means i’m 80% tea atp
are you ME???
on today’s episode of Why is user treenuggets losing her mind???
welllll i found out that when my principal wrote my rec letter, he did it based off of my grades because he didn’t know me that well
fine
THIS IS FINE UNTIL YOU REALIZE that i was sick the week before so my teachers put zero’s in the gradebook so he may have written my rec letter based off of a 65 that i had in spanish. what do i do.
oh my!! i feel so bad especially when M10 is coming ~13 days! i mean you could email the admissions office and explain why you got that recommendation from your principal, but like u don’t know how bad i feel for you that is horrible :((((((((. then, i think that the school has already got your transcript so it’ll show your final grade.
I doubt that the principal would have based their decision on that particular score. Hopefully, they looked at the entire report and based their recommendation on more comprehensive information as most principals do. Nothing to be done now. The decisions will probably be made by the end of this week. Good luck to you and hope you get into the school of your choice.
jkeghrwlkhwr
i may just straight up ask him about it because him and i have talked about bs a few times (he used to teach at one)
yeah my final grade in spanish was like. an 86 so i’m not toooooo too worried but i fear my rec letters might kinda suck
I would do that! You’ll feel better, and if there was a mistake, it can still be addressed.
11 days to decision. A lot of the families are feeling anxious about the decisions either overtly or covertly. I thought my DS was being very calm and nonchalant but the other day when I walked into his room, I saw 30 days, 13 days etc on his white board. I told him to embrace this phase as well. After all it’s a part of life. Also being busy with school, sports , volunteering and debates helps.
All of you will learn from this and will be wiser and emotionally more intelligent for it.
