Where di you see the application status?
Question, will bs change their decision release time from last year? (I saw some other threads from like last year and was curious if they were going to be similar to this year’s decision notification time)
thank you so much @anon41061056
You find the “View Page Source” and click on the application status.
And I checked all but it looks like every school is “Awaiting Review” except my safety school where it says “proposed” so maybe this is a way to check acceptances a week early?
I guess
anyways, which schools did you apply to?
Exeter
Groton
Milton
St. Paul
Concord Academy
Commonwealth
Hotchkiss
Middlesex
Andover
Deerfield
Cambridge School Of Weston
Choate
that’s a lot!
i checked mine and one says finalized what does that mean
all my others are awaiting review i hope it’s not over for me
For this HTML thing I say treat it like mail notifs. It might mean something but most likely it doesn’t. And not seeing it is no way a sure sign of rejection.
It’s not over. Check again later this week. You’ll most likely see changes
I think that’s right – we just don’t know. I was initially excited that there was suddenly a lock icon next to one of the schools on Clarity. Why would a school take the time to lock an FA application when they weren’t considering the application? And why would they consider the application if they weren’t interested in accepting the student? But we don’t know. Maybe the school locks all applicants.
As far as the HTML stuff – that is interesting but it’s likely the same answer. We just don’t know. Also, Clarity is a platform used by many schools, and each school is going to use it differently. The status for one school might mean something different for another school.
When we don’t know what we are looking at, this kind of new information is as likely to misinform as it is to inform.
Good luck to everyone. I hope everyone on this thread gets at least some good news by this time next week!
My mom thought some schools might consider the financial aid application outside of Clarity, then upload the decisions next Friday. There’s no way such a massive security flaw went unnoticed by Clarity and the schools, so they might not change it so they don’t give away their decisions.
We are not sure what the statuses for each school are means different for each school
To be completely honest, I do not see the point of all these attempts to see results early. Your decisions have been finalized. Using these unreliable, anxiety-inducing tricks is not going to make your decision come early. On M10, you will have the same result no matter what hacks you use now. So what’s the point of doing any of this?
Welcome to the Freakout thread. Logic does not always apply.
I don’t think this “view source” technique is something that should be discussed on this forum, TBH. Considering that Clarity is a financial services site, I don’t think we should be broadcasting how to access data that should be hidden.
For those that want to use the approach, go for it, but continuing to publicize it could cause problems for CC and Clarity.
I may have tried the aforementioned hack, and only one school was changed, and based on Visual1’s list, I’m betting that it’s the same school. So my guess is that it doesn’t actually mean anything… just that one school made a status change, probably for everyone.
