It means absolutely NOTHING. Some schools don’t use that field, so every candidate could say “Awaiting Review”.
Hotchkiss has the same number I believe
“Awaiting review” definitely does not mean rejection. Someone earlier today got a package notice from a school with an “awaiting review” status. Different schools use the system differently.
And I guess their dean mentioned that those applicants would be competing for around 175 spots.
That number is anxiety-inducing lol
I want to let you all know a fun fact though. Excuse me if it’s irrelevant, but I can speak and sing in a male voice (being a female).
And I sent a video of that to the schools.

yes but I remember most of the deans (and interviewers) saying that close to half of the applications they receive are not even looked at after checking the grades. A lot of people apply and they should not based on their grades. That is the 1st factor. The BS expect at least to have student with great grades. THEN, the whole package come into consideration… interview, recommandation, extra curriculum activities, etc, etc…
So if you take the number 2400, remove perhaps not half of it but at least 1000 people.
1400 - and most of that number are available spots for 9th grades, then around 50 spots for 10th, 30 spots for 11th or few or none for 12th. It gives you an idea of the percentage and how many people compete against you. And of course, you have to differentiate athletes, artists, musician, etc…

So around 2400 competing 172 spots? Math doesn’t work. Don’t we expect about 15% acceptance rate for these schools?
You need to factor in yield. Not everyone who is accepted will attend

Ik some of you are really anxious so if you want at least some info on decisions i suggest looking at the USPS dashboard for incoming packages 
if you don’t have a notification dw it doesn’t mean you don’t have an acceptance though!! just to make that clear!!

Proposed doesn’t mean accepted either. I just got an email from a school that showed status proposed that we are waitlisted ( FA WL)
