So you are gonna apply for 2010 fall?

That’s the plan! Of course, I’m focusing my worry on passing A levels at the moment. To tell you the truth, it looks pretty grim.

You have quite a lot of time… Be wise! :)

Yeah that’s true. Too bad I’m not known for my wisdom! Lol. I’m actually homeschooling myself and I’m not too great at it. Judging by my O level results, I don’t think I’ll do as well as I could have done under different circumstances. It’s safe to say I’m not going to be applying to Harvard anytime soon, anyway. But hey, there’s always hope!
By the way, does this mean that I’m “homeschooled”? I’m not being taught. I was wondering what I’m going to do about the letters of recommendation. I don’t know any adults at all aside from my parents. It really puts a damper on things.

Hey pakistani fellas…Does anyone of you know how American universities look at FSc(Intermediate)? Like what is conversion for percentage to gpa?

dude, you can rest assured that the US colleges will know about FSc. I dont really know the conversion, but i’m not sure how that matters. You basically send in your school transcript to the colleges, and whatever the grading system at your school is, the colleges will use that.

P.S: this thread is slipping down the pages…C’mon, keep it alive!

hmmmm…if they luk at grading system then i guess an A+ will be gud since only 2-3% ppl get A+ in FSc…

@ zapoo they will know about the system but they will rely heavily on the SATs and TOEFL to make sure that the standardised tests corroborate what your transcript reflects.
@flavor of the day
if u have not taken any tuition and are not enrolled in a school. then you are a homeschooled student. you will still need the recs but they cant be from ur parents they expect an adult who has known you in an academic setting or an employer to write them. there are separate forms for home schooled kids. take as many SAT 2s as possible. and again the results of the standardised tests will be really important

hey guys check out [RYLA Returns](http://www.rylareturns.org)

Possible chief guest might be Mustafa Kamal. Many other political and business leaders will also be present as mentors.

Registration fee is RS 2500. Compare that to the RS 39000 for the YLC

Anyone interested?

I am, but its in April. The A2 finals are in May/june. Not such a good time, I suppose. Plus, I’m from Islamabad, so Karachi is pretty far. I really like the competition by the way!

its for 2 nights and 3 days only. So unless you are having your mocks during that period, it shouldn’t be a problem. And if you travel from Islamabad to Karachi with a group of friends, the trip itself is likely to be more memorable than the event.
