The official Pakistani Thread for the class of 2013

Hey congratulations! Thats awesome.

Congrats! I’m really happy for you. All the best with the US applications! :D

So what are we all thinking about the events of today?

Screw Zardari! Yes
Screw Sharifs! Not yet. We need them

IMO, screw all the politicians! Imran khan, the sharif brothers, the ppp feudals, all of them are power hungry self-proclaimed saviours. At best, they delude themselves into believing that they are the only hope for this country. What we need is to get rid of the political class altogether as it has repeatedly proven itself to be nothing more than a drain on our scarce resources. I am ****ED by the events of today as it is the final nail in the coffin for the precious dream of democracy which had sustained our fragmented society for the past couple of years (since the beginning of the lawyers mini-revolution). Stuff like this frustrates me SO much. I just wish there was a button we could push or a switch we cold flip to fix the corrupted minds of our politicians.

But remember, as the old adage goes, a nation only gets the leaders it deserves.

And congrats on McGill. Did you apply for scholarships/financial aid there?

I miss the martial law days! Ironically, things were better off back then.

P.S. This nation doesn’t deserve democracy!

The martial law days created all this ****. The country was distributed to the taliban and the mqm and q league during the martial law. and with its last breath one major political party was handed over to a thug too. As it is nwaz league is the only party that remains. They are stupid. And they tend to bungle things up. But they still are our only hope in a democratic system.
Imran Khan is alright man. But he aint gettin Joe the Plumbers vote.

Anyone willing to be a part of “the solution” here? After the US (or Canada in some people’s case) education, would you like to help your country…?

Hi my Pakistani Friends!

So I am really sorry, to the point of shooting myself, for not being here. I hope you don’t want to find out why. Anyhoo, I just wanted some help, with the SSE admissions test! Can anyone help my out with that, like what and how to prepare, how to practice, or ANY sort of tidbit or advice? How easy is it to get into SSE? What if you screw the test and all other things are awesome? Are a LOT of people applying?

Thanks you all! I shall now be a regular!

Flibb

@talha_adnan: Yes. How? Don’t know.

@Flibb: Hey! Don’t get too preppy. You got the syllabus, a sample test and a lot of SAT II books. Get to work! There are no miracles or shortcuts.

For the record, I took the LCAT today and it was real simple. I suspect its percentile to hit Everest, though.

Hey, any likely letters??

Flibb i dont know whether the test has already taken place or not. But ill give it a shot anyway.
The bio guys will be at an advantage. Those whon havent got bio will give the additional mathematics paper which is very difficult to score at. Even if u have further maths. For fiz and chem go through the whole A-Level syllabus oince, leave out the applications. Do the Sat 2 mcqs though iot wont be of much use. better to do revise the theory well and do some A- Level Mcqs. That question where there are four charges at four corners of a square is definetely coming in Physics. Be prepared to wait for hours on a wooden chair which hurts like hell. And be prepared to be shocked and frustrated

O Good Luck!

And 300. thats a milestone now.

BTW does anyone know how many undergrads are admitted to LUMS each year?

approx. 800

200 to SSE

@Flibb

tats what they admitted last year…r they admitting the same number this year as well?
