Of course, free! Colgate is really well-reputed. A friend of mine also got in. (100% need-met) He got his acceptance letter yesterday. He is also concerned about the same issues. So, I’m sure there are many people who wanna stay clear from all the things going on.
The drinking rumors do exist, but tell me something, which college is 100% alcohol free? I’m sure people like you, in fact us (everyone here on the forum), can easily adjust to the new environment.

well actually you made sure i couldnt be beaten.ur post sealed it.
not that i didnt have it in the bag already. which i did

you dont have to drink in order to go to parties…its ur choice what you do. Some catholics there dont drink but party ALOT

I’ve got a question:
How does LUMS SSE compare with:
1)Engineering/Computer Science at McGill
2)Computer Science at a Liberal Arts college ranked 50th in the US.
???

I’m still in high school so take my views with a pinch of salt :).

LUMS SSE seems to have a kickass faculty, I’ve heard of quite a few MIT/Oxbridge PHD’s currently teaching/researching over there. But LUMS SSE is a fairly new school, I’m sure it will encounter some hiccups along the way.
McGill on the other hand is fairly established and has a good name in the Middle East/South Asia etc. It will also probably be easier to go onto a better grad school from McGill or the Liberal Arts college :)

Thanks for the opinions people! Helped a lot :)

@ talha_adnan: Do tell me if ur friend decides to go there!! It’d be great to have some fellow pakistani on campus!

Let me add to the list:

1 Oberlin
1 Reed College
2 Boston University
1 Boston College
2 University of Virginia
2 GWU
3 Babson

These are all LAS…

Got an offer from LSE for Economics and Mathematics!!! But the conditions they have set make it unlikely I will be able to go. I need atleast a B in further maths and to put this in context I just about got a B on my AS maths exam.
Oh well, maybe I’ll have better luck with the Ivies tonight!

Just got dumped by NYU. Hope tufts makes me feel better. I know Cornell wont.

Thank god i have LSE though haha

^Remember: Even though it is the London School of…, it still shares its name with the notorious La(W)hore School of Economics :D

From the little I know, I am certain that A Level Further Maths has nothing to do with AS/A Level Maths. In fact, you can score well on F.Maths without getting even an A grade in Maths. Possible.

After all, it’s the real LSE we’re talking about here - gotta earn it.

Hey Ali, whats your conditional offer and which course are you in for?
