Social work to oceanography. I won’t it would take at least 2 extra years for all the pre reqs. So I’ll just go to law school :)

speaking of black pedophiles…lol watch this hilarious spoof on to catch a predator

Watching the biggest loser while eating fatty food!

STUPID CALIFORNIA EARTHQUAKE HOAX.

Causing a commotion throughout the whole damn state.
Some stupid site decided to issue a fat (8.xx) warning over the next 24 hours.
Impossible to predict something that accurately!

[Earthquake Prediction California, San Francisco, Los Angeles, recent, earthquake, San Diego, Eureka, Sacramento and Alaska.](http://www.quakeprediction.com/)

is this the hoax ur typing about?

If it happens I hope I actually feel it for once.

@janethedoe LOL yes.
USGS confirmed that it is a hoax;

@VictoriaFelt … I don’t think you’d wanna feel an 8.xx earthquake lol. Well unless you were like in an open area like on a football field or in a desert… I think that’d be pretty fun… but not around any buildings.

@anthsantos no cerials? Why over the next 24 hours?

@eshug1 I think that when I say I LMAO, I REALLY REALLY mean it for the first time ever hahahahahah I loved that !

Earthquakes can’t be definitively predicted. There are just too many variables involved to make a definitive prediction. The best you can get is probability over years.

I know I’m late to the party but Oceanography is a great field Victoria if you are inclined to go that route. Oceanographers are making great contributions to scientific fields as diverse as climate science and geophysics.

How in the world did you even find out about that site if it is a hoax? Was it also reported on a regular news station

Wow guys…this is big…xmarks just got open tab synchronization…AMAZING!

@jamesinho LOL oceanography

@anth.santos: Er, I guess I missed the joke. Help me out: what part was funny?

guys go to google and just search for the word earthquake. at the top of the page, it’ll say “recent earthquakes” and it says there was a 4.0 in SoCal 13 hours ago haha. I never felt it!

@jamesinho

Well victoria said she’d wanna feel the 8.xx quake and then you suggested her going into the field of oceanography, so I thought you were implying that a quake so big would literally crack the earth causing us to fall into the water… lol…

@Solidblu: Yeah, we’re still getting a few aftershocks here and there from that Easter one in Baja. When you get a pretty good size rupture like that one, the stress dynamics of the surrounding region change dramatically and you get lots of other quakes either on the same fault as the first one (the rupture kind of propagates up and down the fault like a crack in a windshield), and sometimes on nearby faults as the strain shifts across weaker rock.

It should be noted that statistically over the long run, CA is not getting any more or less quakes than normal. Nothing overly dramatic is happening here-- unless you count two humongous slabs of rock sliding past and tearing apart each other at the speed a fingernail grows to be dramatic. :)

@solidblu

haha I didn’t feel it either… if you visit that site often, you’ll realize that earthquakes happen all the time

@anth.santos: Ah! Got it. LOL. Sorry about the confusion man. I was actually responding to something she said earlier in this thread and a second thread about possibly switching majors to oceanography. That major holds a special place in my heart because I’m thinking to specialize in marine geology when I get to grad school.

No, you’re right on the money: I wouldn’t want to be in an 8 either. Hell, anything >6+ is too much for me.

i was dropped as a baby cause of an earthquake
