solidblu- oh please, im Indiana Jones remember! im gonna be off on all these adventures, im no Angelina Jolie, i cant have my future children globetrotting around with me. its bad for them, i love kids but working with them made me realize i can definitely wait to have them when i settle down or retire.
plus im ever youthful and healthy, i want to explore the world while i still have energy.
lol

@jane speakinggg of exploring the world while we all still have energy…

is anyone thinking about studying abroad?

Oh ya sorry central valley…

i have similar reasons. i really look forward to having kids and always thought id start my family soon after college. but life has given me a new perspective recently. i really want to travel and do things for me before being tied down.

If I end up going to humboldt I probably will. It’s an option for the social work internship that you are required to do senior year. I guess it’s not techniqually studying abroad though.
I am going abroad this summer for the first time 12 day Mediterranean sea cruise. Should be amazing!

i currently speak 3 foreign languages and plan to add german and an asian language. all i think about is studying and working and living abroad. UC has perfect opportunities for it too! another reason i am sooooo excited and being anxious about admission decisions takes a back seat most of the time is cuz all the UCs have awesome opportunities.

Please don’t have kids until you’re ready to direct the majority of your energy to having kids. One thing that is likely common amongst all us high school underachievers is the underachieving parenting of our parents.

I don’t mean to generalize too much, but very few of the freshman admits to elite schools that I know could’ve done it without amazing parents.

You guys are thinking about having kids already??? Damn…I’m way behind lol. jk. But yeah, I’ve considred studying abroad with the Peace & Conflict Studies Minor at UCB. I also may do the UC semester abroad thing at another UC (different from where I go in the fall) lol.

I’ll probably go abroad to Brazil, since ultimately I want to focus my degree in the development of Latin America.

Hence brazilbrasil. :)

Hello I’m new here, just thought id post in this thread cus I have nothing better to do. Any minorities out there :)

@ oaxaca: I’m not a minority, but welcome to the site!! Where did you apply and what’s your major?

@ jane: This is random, but laker contacted me on facebook and wanted to say “Hi!” I’m assuming it’s sarcastic, but he told me to relay the message lol. I guess he found my facebook through the lakerforever fan club lol.

i want to study abroad!!! though i’m not willing to learn another language so i’ve been looking at the united kingdom lol, though i guess i could do france or india also, but that would require some review of language skills lol…and i just want to do one semester/2 quarters since we already only get two years at our UC :\ not sure how i’ll be able to do it if i get into haas and try to double major though…but i’ll worry about that if it ever happens :]

and welcome oaxaca, i’m indian though i don’t think that’s a minority around here lol, but i’m in a religious minority as a sikh :]

emilsinclair9- omg lol hahahaha i knew he was an internet stalker. is “hi” all he said?
awww how nice of him to send greetings. (sarcasm implied)

Evan, checkin’ in!

@ lomkh: You are amazing man! 1-year Haas transfer and planning on double majoring + the possibility of studying abroad. You’re going to go really far. I mean what you’re doing is unreal. Congrats on everything you’ve done so far; I’m really impressed.

@ jane: he didn’t start with hi, but he said, “Thanks for making the laker fan club.” But yeah he just told me to “say hi to my friend jane for me”.

Man not so interesting on here tonight! Maybe since it’s 2:00 those who celebrated thirsty Thursday will come post lol.
So in my boredom I have been looking at rooms for rent in Berkeley. I’m not worried about being rejected. My safety school is secretly my favorite most days of the week.

@ Evan: Where have you been man! lol this thread has been crazy tonight.

emilsinclair9- if u type to him again, please relay the message that i take his greeting as an apology, cuz im a nice person.

Oh, you know, just out and about.
