* The Official UC Transfer Late-night Discussion Thread*

No it’s just where I reallllllly want to go if I don’t get into Berkeley and if I do get into Berkeley and it fails to dazzle me again where I will go. I also was accepted to Sac State and San Jose State. I also was accepted to The University of Montana and got the WUE scholarship which would mean I’d only have to pay 150% of tuition instead of full OOS. San and San Jose were back ups in case I needed to stick around here due to any unseen reason (pregnancy is a contagious disease around here… found out in the last month two of my best friends are).

I am a womens studies major so I love all of this gender analysis in the media. I was just kind of shocked after watching some of this iCarly show that is targeted to really young kids. It’s scary. And dont even get me started on the advertisements… Those ads are ridiculous…and we wonder why all of our kids are fat. Well…I can say that those advertisements dont help any!

sigh it is now time that i kick myself off of here to start my 5 page paper…

@Victoria Why would Cal fail to dazzle you? It’s Cal. It’s awesome.

@Rwasko Bleh, I know.

Oh! Here’s Victoria!
Hello Victoria,
EmpathyInAnarchy told me that you applied to transfer to Cal
only after one year at community college and you might be able to help me out
with some of my questions, if you don’t mind.

I am a student who wants to transfer to Cal with Poli Econ
hopefully within only one year at community college.

I have 12 transferable semester units from Los Angeles area school
and have no AP credits.

Now, I am trying to start taking some classes at DVC starting this summer
and would like to transfer out by next year. (Starting UC in Fall 2011 is my goal)

I am planning to take 9 units online in this summer session
and 21 in Fall 2010, and 18 in Spring 2011.

do you think it’s possible to do it?
how did you manage it yourself?
how many credits did you have when you were applying to transfer?
what major are you transferring with?

Please please help me when you have time and if you don’t mind.
Thank you so much in advance.

I think I posted all of this in your original thread… I guess one thing I’d say is to take your math class as early as possible. Really I suck at time managment and studying and it really wasn’t hard. I am pretty mellow so I don’t stress much which helped me a lot. Basically just try and focus on getting out of CC asap and you’ll have some great motivation. Also really utilize rate my
professor when making your schedule and talk to peers before registering. If you don’t get into classes immediately either be persistent or be flexible and take any classes you need. Online classes are ussually a great option with heavy course loads. Take math and English classes asap because I hear UCs like to see them completed at
the time of application. I am
a social work major and had no problem getting accepted to all the csu’s I applied to. Now I am just waiting to see if I get into berkeleys social welfare program.

Hey Victoria, how’d your paper go?

did anyone here go to lovefest or has attended?

^^i wanted to go. i was broke though :(. im going to edc this year hopefully, are u?

Haven’t started the writing portion yet. Still reading through my sources. Really shouldn’t be on here. True sign of an addict.

They have software to block yourself from the internet. You set it for a certain amount of time and you’re distraction free.
