The Official UCB Fall of 2014 Decisions Thread

@Cayton just my twisted sense of humor that I only find funny. Dang it. I’ll never make it big as a comedian at this rate.

@TheUnderdog1‌

I’ve been busy with finals myself. Sorry I couldn’t keep the appointment. :)

I’m ready to finish but I won’t 'til Friday. :(

@TheUnderdog1‌

You’ll learn good comedy when you study American politics at Berkeley.

@Theunderdog1 HAHAHAHA, You’re hilarious. I been deciding which school to go to! I actually start summer school next week. I been going back and fourth between UCLA and UCSD.

@Cayton are you done at SMC yet? I took my last on campus final today. I already have an A without my final in my other class so I am being allowed to skip it.

Yeah, comedy’s a tough gig. There’s definitely no crying in come…wait that can’t be right…is it dodgeball? No crying in dodgeball?

Well @Cayton it looks like @Collegedropout1 likes my jokes. He knows real humor when he sees it unlike some. (I’m pointing at you) lol.

@Collegedropout1 didn’t the sir deadline pass already? How are you still able to be making a decision? Did you sir to both?

@Theunderdog1 I SIR’d to UCLA before the deadline, but that was before I found out UCSD accepted me off the waitlist, which was last week.

Ahhh @collegedropout1 sounds like a tough choice. I think you will figure it out soon enough. Maybe flip a coin, designate UCLA one side and UCSD the other. If it lands on a side, and you immediately get a slight gut feeling of disappointment go with the other side of the coin.

Works for me. Helps me figure out what I really want.

@TheUnderdog1‌

I’m not done. :’(

My last final is on Friday, lol. I have an online art history final exam that I’ll be taking in about 15~20 minutes, too. :(

@Cayton‌

Friday classes are the worst. Good luck on your art history final.

@ocnative‌

lol, yeah. Finals scheduling doesn’t even make sense at my school; the Friday final is for a class that normally meets on Mondays and Wednesdays…

And I finished the art history final already. Pretty easy. :D

@Cayton

Oh…wut da hell? Nevermind, lol :stuck_out_tongue:

@ocnative‌

Yeah, I’m really good at taking tests and finishing them quickly. :P

And thank God I’m done with that class now. Art history is the most boring class I’ve ever taken in college…

Reading that art history textbook was a great way to get me sleepy.

@TheUnderdog1 The room situation was pretty chill, everyone at my event had a roommate, we got placed in triples/doubles in Unit 3 (but they only put two people in each room regardless of whether it had 2 beds or 3), and they give you a key so you can basically come and go as you please.

About the American History & Institution requirement, are two course required? Assist tells me that I need one but the online orientation tells me that two are required. Also, had anybody encountered a discrepancy between major prereqs from assist and from the online orientation?

@oongaboonga‌

Yes, two courses are required for the American History & Institution requirement.

@ocnative I keep finding conflicting information. On their AH&I requirement FAQ,

"5. I am a transfer student. Can I use course work that I completed at the college I am transferring from to satisfy my AH&I requirements?

If you are transferring from another college and you took and passed one approved course in U.S. History or U.S. Government, you have satisfied both the American History and American Institutions requirement. "

"8. As a California community college transfer student I satisfied the IGETC requirements. Does this mean I have automatically satisfied my AH&I requirements?

No. Unless you passed one of the approved American history or political science courses at your colleges, you have not satisfied the AH&I requirements."

http://registrar.berkeley.edu/Registrar/Default.aspx?PageID=ahi.html</a></p>

It seems that if you don’t finish at least one of the AH&I requirements by enrollment, you will have to take two at Cal. But I don’t know why the online orientation says otherwise. So confusing, I guess I’ll find out during CalSO. :frowning:

I believe it’s only one. Interesting because I never ever saw that until now.

http://registrar.berkeley.edu/Registrar/Default.aspx?PageID=ahi.html</a></p>

If you haven’t satisfied it already (through high school or prior coursework) you need to take two classes for AH&I.

Edit: Whoops, someone else already found that page, sorry! :P

Do any of you know about the AP score delay for College Board? I went to submit my AP scores and College Board told me there was some type of delay and that my scores were not going to be processed until July 2nd. I’m really freaked out because on the login page it says to check AP scores by July 1st. I already e-mailed my admissions officer, but there hasn’t been any response yet.
