If I am number one on the waitlist for a discussion do I have a good chance of getting into the class? What happens if I can’t get into the discussion? I need this class to declare so I am very worried.

@ Clayton
Okay cool, thanks. I’ll have similar stats just flip flopped. Hopefully my extracurriculars and essay push me over the edge. I might have to stay here for another year between health (I’ve had to have multiple oral surgeries and have ongoing corrective therapy for a potentially life threatening affliction), modularizing my business, and if I don’t get the courses I need. In which case I’ll probably have a 3.95 when I apply. My one sub par semester had extentuating circumstances that I’ve overcome and adjusted to, since then I’ve had a 4.0 GPA pretty easily. Thanks for replying to me. It gives me goosebumps to think this might still be a possibility.

Does anyone know if I tell my admissions officer I plan to add a class for the summer and then change my mind because I know longer want the class what will happen? I found out I can’t use the class for what I wanted so I want to drop it and do something more productive. I don’t need the class for units, igetc, or my major. I just want to withdraw from the class.

@cekelly

Good luck, and I hope your condition improves.

The admission officers are on your side. You’re already admitted, so they’re going to do everything possible to keep you.

Oh, no. Lol. I’m in the wrong forum. I apply in November. This just seemed to be the closest minded forum to my needs and problems. Sorry. :)

@skg1012 what major are you? You definitely ahould contact your major advisor since mine has been super helpful

@moriartee
I’m an intended Environmental Economics and Policy Major. I will, just found the contact information (didn’t know that was possible or that I even had the contact info). Thanks!

@calbro really? I’ve always felt like admissions officers were there to try and kick you out.

Finding somewhere to live off-campus is like pulling teeth… WHYYYYYYY :(( :(( :((

@JewBacca
And this is why I’m living on campus… one less thing to add to my possibly stressful year.

Where are you gonna live @Loyshi? I’m accepting my housing offer today ^^ I hope I’ll make some friends at Martinez.

Someone explain to me this Academic calendar thing. I know I can’t stay for Winter break, but what about Thanksgiving, Spring break and Easter? Can I stay in my room or do I have to go find a place to stay?

@jewbacca were you denied of housing or did you rejected an offer? Have you check calrentals? I’m looking into that resource myself as I have no housing guarantee due to not selecting any room as my 5th preference.

You guys should check out the Housing page on facebook. It’s pretty helpful. https://www.facebook.com/groups/266259923468888/?ref=ts&fref=ts

@moriartee I think you can stay for all breaks except Winter. They might close the dining halls during them, but that’s only an issue if you have meal points. :P

Same boat as you @oongaboonga … @loyshi there are much better deals off campus once you find them though.

@moriartee I’m living at Wada Double for the fall.

@JewBacca I know there are better deals, but I want to try it out and be able to meet more people. Not that you can’t meet people living off campus, it might just be easier. I’m actually subletting a place off campus over the summer while I’m doing Transfer Edge.

So I just accepted my housing offer today
I will be living in unit 3, where are you guys going to live?

so< if you didn’t select a 5th preference you are not guaranteed housing? I did not see that, I only selected four choices and then figured that they would random me assign me whatever if I didn’t get one of the choices. OMG! Where did I miss that???

Do I need to notify my admission officer if I am taking a class that is not UC-transferable?
